The Luci Bonneau Mixed Doubles Tourn. is this coming weekend at Dynamic. I have never bowled this event before but will be giving it a try with Kristi Krol. I hear there will be some very good male and female bowlers in this event. I don't know who all is signed up this year but it should be lots of fun. We have the 9:00 am Saturday morning squad time (dang that's too early for a Saturday...lol..) so, wish us luck...
I have heard that bowlers like Chris Barnes and his wife Lynda will be bowling, Carolyn Dorin Ballard, Del Ballard, Wes Malott, Chris Johnson, Tiffany Stanborough, Shannon Pluhowski and I'm sure many other great bowlers have bowled this in the past and may be here again this year... The field is limited to 60 entries and they are taking the top 12 to the finals and the top 16 teams will cash.

I love it...team name in a doubles tournament...lol.
MrP is so worried about this tournament. He took today off so he could get some REST because some big names are coming into town. Chris Barnes and Tommy Jones to name a couple. Wes Malott will not be here because he has to do something with Columbia. But there will be some talent coming in for this. Good luck MrP and Kristy.

there were certainly some big names out there this weekend ... i made it out there for the 2nd shift on Saturday and for the last few games on the finals on Sunday ... as some might have predicted, Tommy Jones and Shannon Pluhowsky won, and yes, he really does throw the ball that good, it's not just the TV cameras!
Heather Jones and Mike Scroggins finished up 2nd, passing up Mark Williams and Liz Johnson in the position round game, they finished up 3rd, with Tyler Jensen and Anita Mans ending up 4th
the full results should be up on allbowling.com later tonight or tomorrow

Had fun bowling the Pro-Am and the Tourn., it brought back memories of when I was out on Tour when some of the kids asked for autographs. This tourn. is for a great cause and I was glad to be apart of it. During the Pro-Am, Dino Castillo had Chris Barnes and Tommy Jones out on the lanes sitting in chairs and having Lynda Barnes throw a ball between the legs of the chairs of Tommy and her husband. Dino was on the lanes with a microphone kidding around and giving Lynda a hard time. He, Tommy and Chris said if Lynda made it threw the chairs and got 9 or better they would donate a 100.00 each to the foundation. She made it threw the chairs but only got 7 pins with her ball going high in the pocket. But Tommy, Dino and Chris donated the money anyways. Dino is a nut and funny person, Tommy is very nice and easy to talk to.
Bowled ok Saturday but missed 5, 10 pin spares that was just plain stupid. The shot was tough and not quite the same as what was put out for the practice session on Friday from 2:30 to 4:30... and was different from pair to pair Saturday. I was only +31 for my 8 games with 4 - 170 something games that killed me. Had a 267 my 3rd game playing straight up 2nd & 3rd boards. Thought I had a chance at a high game pot but was 2nd high for that game, Dino Castillo shot a 300 that game. The lanes where different from pair to pair. Mark Williams started off going 120 something, 300, then 170 something.... and ended up +125 for his 8 games. Some pairs were scoreable but most were very tough, almost everyone was struggling starting off the first few games. I was +11 after 3 games, then went 178, 179, 236, 226, and 201 for my last 5 games. Kristy shot well for among the women in the tourn. with a (-13), she was 17th best in the qualifying among all the women, I was 30th among the men but if I could have spared all my 10 pins like I should have, I could have been 21st just ahead of Ozio but as it was I still beat some great bowlers as Kristy did as well. Together we did beat the team of Chris and Lynda Barnes..... Kristy said she is going to frame our "A" Squad results on her wall because she was very happy about us beating them... it made her Tournament....lol... We finished 24th out of 55 entries of a very tough field. It took +140 to make the finals.

Astros Pitching sucks...except for Oswalt and Lidge.....

Seems like the key to this tournament is having a LH on your team... I should be ready by next year and Kristi can cash in perfect for me... or maybe she should consider Falco... lol

haha ... yeah the Lefties did OK PBA
I talked to Mark Williams after the finals on Sunday and he said he had been standing in front of the ball return since the end of the 4th game ... everybody moved in deep a lot sooner than most people thought they would ... the lefties could bowl 12 games without moving much more than they do in a typical league night

They amended the standings on the allbowling.com website to include a listing of the qualifying scores of men and women ranked by sex, interesting to see what women beat not only their men partners, but a whole lot of the other men as well!

Smurf was only +10 in qualifying. Billy Oatman did ok but not as well as other lefties. As Charlie said and Paul K. told me Sunday evening, the right side was dry for the finals. It was a definite advantage to have a lefty Sunday.

Since the shot was so tough, the advantage the Men have with more power and revs was taken away. A person that had less revs and more accuracy, which women bowlers at this level will normally execute better and more often than men, were able to fair pretty well. Liz Johnson beat all the men but two in Qualifying. She was around 1st arrow all day Saturday, I don't know about Sunday though. She loves an outside shot and can play it with anyone, man or women.

Then based on this viewpoint/ opinion of your's, why hasn't a woman won a national PBA title?
