The Armadilla Dollars league kicked off without a hitch. We have 10 teams again this year but we have been moved to the high end. Xboms team took it to us for 3 games last night. With the lanes much dryer than last years shot, many on our team could not hit our averages we have to carry for the first three weeks. I could only muster a 645 series on a 231 average.
I know for sure that I will not be the only one biatching tonight to Randy if the lanes are as dry as they have been for the last two weeks. I'm 7 boards left with my feet than I was last year with the same ball. I had 3 balls resufaced and polished for the beginning of this season and all of them are going to be tracked out in 4 to 6 weeks...if it takes that long.... I guarantee you that if Arm II ran a tape across the lanes, it would prove that I am right... The lanes are hooking way too much.

I was so-so last night. I when 176-219-223=618. For most of the first 2 games my timing was still just a bit off, but by the end of the second game and the 3rd game I think I found it again. We did win 3 to start of the league which is always a good thing.

I struggled last night.
Probably my worst set bowling as a LH, including practice time.
132, 168, 169 for a 156 avg.
I think I was probably pressing a little, bowling next to mr. perfect, plus, the added incentive of bowling a 175 game and winning a mr. p autographed picture...
To change the subject, once again the vaunted Tuesday Men's League, which for some reason, every person that walks through the door at Arm II thinks is the greatest league that has ever existed, influences the roll-off for the Monday Night league.
Top 5 Stair Step roll-off, with a wild card (thank GOD the wildcard is seeded 5th) with the overall seeding based on overall wins for the 1/4 winners.
So, instead of the 4 quarter winners coming in on roll off night with an equal chance of winning the Place Money, the overall standings dictate the Roll Off and guarantee teams finish no worse than one place lower than their seeding.
Why have a Roll Off?
I guess so a team has a 1 game chance to improve their standing.
Instead of having a unique roll-off, that seemed to be fair and equitable last year, we carbon copy the format of "the greatest 14 team league on EARTH".
I'm disappointed. But, while we're on the subject, can someone copy me the pay-off of the Tuesday Men's league so I can submit it to our league to adopt.
I want to make sure we don't stray to far from what they do on Tuesday Nights.

I was fine in leaving it the same as last year....Someone else brought it up, I think it was Pat B. but not sure.... but once it was I wanted to put some input on it and try and keep it as much as possible from being exactly like Tuesday night. Thus my suggestion of making the Wild Card Team the Mandatory 5th place seed...

I'm not placing blame on you, mr. president, you weren't even paying attention in the meeting, but, the only way I change my mind about this rule is if my team wins a 1/4 and has most overall wins and can finish 2nd at worst. Until that happens, I HATE THIS FORMAT.

So explain this to me...You will have 4 quarter winners and one wild card going for first place the last night of league? Is that not half the league rolling off on final night?

So what is the point of bowling all year if you have a 50% chance of going to the playoffs. Why don't you just have a monthly winner that way everyone can go! I sure wouldn't make the prize fund top heavy then.

So what is the point of bowling all year if you have a 50% chance of going to the playoffs. Why don't you just have a monthly winner that way everyone can go! I sure wouldn't make the prize fund top heavy then. You should want to bowl good all year long so you can have a higher seed in the roll off which guarantees you more money. Plus if the league pays point money, each win is more money. If it pays on place money at the end of the year only, then bowling good for one quarter could make more sense. But personally, I like to create a format that rewards the bowlers or teams that bowl well all year long (via by team wins), other then having it given away by putting teams that haven't done as well on the same footing in a roll offs..... I feel they should be seeded higher...JMO..
