On December 29, 2007 Armadilla Lanes is hosting a youth tournament. The format is similar to a PRO-AM. Entries are limited to the first 160 paid youth bowlers, $15.00 entry paid before December 15th and $20.00 entry paid after December 15th. There are entries at Armadilla Lanes.
I am going to need a minimum 16 adult bowlers with 220 averages or better. If you would like to volunteer your time to bowl with the youth please let me know.
Thank you
Donna Wood

I will not be able to participate or help this time with this tournament as I will be getting a chemo treatment the day before the tournament. I just don't think my health will allow me to do so. Good luck and everyone have fun.

I know most of you read the forum so I figured this would be the best place to post.
The following people have volunteered to bowl: Charlie Mills Jeff Wood Eddie Brod Jeremy Evans Jimbo Evans Don Parnell Charlie Falco Roger Banks Rusty Ransdell Jeff Clark Darren Reeves Bobby Browder James Long Jr
Danna Browder Heather Jones Jean Cope Karen Roberts Michelle Davis
If I left anyone off I am very sorry and also let me know!!
I will need a bio card from each of you: NAME, HOW MANY YEARS BOWLING AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS!
I would like to have all the adult bowlers to be at Armadilla no later than 1:30 pm December 29th.
I appreciate all of you donating your time!! You will not be paying an entry fee BUT, if you would like to donate $20.00 to the prize fund that would be GREAT!! (this is not required and no one will know if you did or not)
I want everyone to have a good time and have fun with our future competition!!

Donna Wood As President of the GPUSBC, and since we are conducting this tournament on behalf of our Youth members, I am not endorsing that our volunteer adult bowlers pay a specified amount to the youth's prize fund... It is meaningful enough they have promised their time and support to our youth by agreeing to bowl... I think suggesting they donate to the scholarship fund is a sure way to have less of them willing to volunteer next time.

Heck I am not holding them to $20.00 ;D
If they want to donate more they can! JK
I do appreciate all the adult bowlers donating their time and I don't expect them to donate if they don't want to.

I don't even know where to begin.
I want to thank all of the board members that helped. I could not have done this without you...............THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!!!
I want to thank all of the adult bowlers who bowled. All of the kids had a GREAT time and yes I would love to have you all bowl again in August!!
I want to thank all of the parents. I enjoy working with everyone one of your children on Saturdays and I am looking forward to City and State tournaments. I appreciate all the support you give me, Verna, Dorothy and Danna.
I believe the tournament was a BIG success!!! Forty seven kids showed up to bowl and they all brought their parents and other relatives to watch. ;D
If there is anything I could have done differently I am open to any suggestion!!
Thanks again to everyone!!

Had a great time and I can't think of a thing that could have been done better. I feel the kids had a great time.
The only suggestion I can think of would be to have only 1 pro per pair. But if it turns out that next time there are two on a pair, let all the kids on that pair use the higher score of the two pros for the Tourn. not just the one that was on their lane. On my first game when I had the front 8 in a row, one of the kids on my pair but not on my lane, didn't want me to shoot 300 because he would not have been able to use my score.
Congrats to all that put on this Tourn. and helped run it. I'd be happy to bowl it again in August if you need me.

None of the adult bowlers scores counted. Good then, I didn't know.... I was thinking there were two Tourns. in one. Where their were the kids individual scores and then their scores with the pro's, like a doubles thing or something... Thanks for letting me know Donna...
