jeff, I sympathize with a couple of your remarks. BUT, so many of the people on your pair quit, did you really have more people than others on your lanes? I agree with Xbom on one thing, that's the one problem i have with Brackets in a prestigious tournament - you have some who could care less about team mates or double mates, only there to make money. it has hurt the sport so much. It's very bad for young people also. Just like these insane tournaments Sid and others run. Money money money, makes people change the sport and what it's all about. it has caused so many to sandbag and forget it's a sport to respect. With my grandson in YABA i have many times said i am not going to let him go that route, he is sticking it out until the end - unfortunately his dad went immediateley into the bowling for money thing and i may lose my influence. When you can make 300 - 400.00 a week bowling, how can you get a young person to work? they don't see the big picture, benefits, insurance security that working provides and they lose valuable time in the working market when they finally realize it. off my soapbox

When you can make 300 - 400.00 a week bowling, how can you get a young person to work? they don't see the big picture, benefits, insurance security that working provides and they lose valuable time in the working market when they finally realize it. off my soapbox The extra linage came during Doubles...we had 4 doubles's teams on our pair that bowled all their games. All the other pairs had 3 doubles pairing....so we had more games bowled on our pair before Singles had started.... We had more people playing inside than the other pairs...(nothing really could be done about that by the Assoc.) but the damage was done so to say with the extra linage... According to Eddie B and Manny, the oil in the middle was not as much as what is normally out there, at least on our pair from the get go. So the big twisters had to move inside. They were all laying the ball down around the same area, frying out the heads and track....and carrying a ton of oil down the lanes...by the time Singles came around the shot got pretty awful on our pair. Roger B. was the only one able to hit it for Singles. I probably could have done better but was frustrated because I had my eyes set on winning All-Events and just caught up approx. 50 pins on Jr. and only needed to beat him by 15 pins or so in Singles. I opened in the 10th frame of the first game with a potential of shooting 220 something and ended up with 189.... made ball changes, changed lines and could never find anything during the 2nd game shoot 168 I think.... people dropping out on our pair, our pair turning to crap and Jr. kept striking.... and I just got frustrated real bad, with everything... The house was hot, the shot fried, people quitting and changing the rhythm of the game and seeing my hopes of winning AE going done the drain..... it just got to me..... I'm doing much better today...lol... ;D

Doesn't the temperature cause the lanes to be worse than normal?

Doesn't the temperature cause the lanes to be worse than normal? That is correct MsMullet....it will cause them to dry out quicker...and the approaches to get tackier, as they did.

I will say this team bowls together better than any team I have ever seen. There are no perceived superstars on the team, and that may be why they get no credit. You would never catch any of them posting their triumphs and accomplishments on a goofy message board... and you will never hear them disparaging anyone else's accomplishments and successes. Truly classy and accomplished bowlers. Congratulations guys.

Great shooting guys. Wish I could have been there yesterday to watch and work. I was down for the count sick as a dog and spent all day in bed with a stomach virus. BLAH.
Garland, you are the man. Great shooting for the tournament. It's a shame JR had to get in your way of winning city championship. I watched you bowl Saturday and you were there all day in the hole. I don't recall for sure, but I don't remember him having an open all day unless he had a split I missed.
To everyone else who bowled well, congrats. To those who didn't bowl well or up to there likings, there is always next year. That includes myself. I bowled well considering my situation and I'm just glad I got through the 9 games. I will be stronger next year and expect to bowl better. Until then, I will just work on getting myself built back up and prepare for the next tournament I bowl, which will be next month.

The boys do bowl well together. Definately the most underrated bowlers, which I have said for a long time. I tried to outshine Mike yesterday, I shot 279 in my make up bowling last night, but alas...no 700, bad first game. I tied his high game for the day, I told him I wanted to beat his high game since it isn't snowing in he$$ so I couldn't touch his series.

Definitely some great bowling. I've always known that these 4 guys were capable, it's great to see that they did put it all together at the same time.... Let this go to show that bowlers like me, Mills, Falco, Jr. and other more notable bowlers can be beat on any given day. We are not infallible or unbeatable. Performances like this should inspire all bowlers to compete in our City Tourn. and not be scared off because of the few. Me, bigjle, Xbom and Roger B. tried to take'um down Sunday on the re-entry squad at 3:00 but could only muster a 2780 and had to settle for 4th place in Team. Again great bowling guys and a great showing for G-Man in All-Events....

You know perfect...its comments like that...you really think you are so much better than those 4 bowlers. Not even. I would match them with you any day. Why do you make such statements? It makes you look so arrogant...oh wait you are.

I was only responding to PBA's and rjj's comments as to who they think are the more notible bowlers..... I do think I qualify in that category to which they speak.
