With your past performance at SASBA events so will we. LOL Carry sucked left 20 10 pins spared 3 of them if Jimmy Young could have doubled in in the 10th in games 1 4 5 & 8 we could have finished in 24th place but we had to settle for 48th... LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL #nutkick# My average for the tournament was 209.987654322 LOL Wes Mallet averaged 212.123456789 he out averaged me by 2.35802468 pins per game.. See how I compared to a national touring player I'M GOOD!!!!!!!!!!! #SmlyROFL# Young and I both made the finals in the last one in Beaumont... So I don't know where you come up with my past performances?...I've made the finals a total of 4 or 5 times and the times I didn't it was because of my senior partner bowling bad, except 1 time.... it was me.... I can see it already...quote..."I beat my partner and carried us to the finals. That should be another feather in my hat for the Hall of Fame voting over Jimmy Young". ;D ;D #baby# #pokewithstick#

I like my odds of cashing already...lol....

Left work Thursday at noon from fever and didn't bowl Thursday night league either, had Jimmy Paulk bowl for me, I'm sure we still did well. Was still sick Friday all day, stayed home and sux down a bunch of medicine. I came very close to calling Jimbo or Mills to bowl for me this weekend in the SASBA Tourn.. Started feeling a little better Friday night, so I held off my decision until Saturday morning, since we had B squad and there still would be time. Woke up feeling a little better but still weak but I have been looking forward to this Tourn. for months and wanted to bowl.
Fortunately, I bowled well on a tough shot, even after starting with a 184 game...lol... Ended up shooting +191 for 8 games combined with Jimmy's +34 to qualify in 13th place. Only 5 teams from B Squad made the finals and on paper, B squad was stronger. I don't know what happened but the scores were a lot lower on B squad than what was shot on A squad. But none the less, we made it.
For the finals, Jimmy and I started off very well, winning 7 of our first 8 matches. Jimmy was getting his hits and some of the other teams gave us some breaks and handed us the win. We had worked our way up into 4th or 5th place by the 7th or 8th game but then we started catching some of the tougher teams and I was starting to feel the affects from being sick the last few days. I was getting tired and couldn't keep my speed up on the the ball consistently when the lanes dried out and we lost a few games in a row. But to make a long story shot, we moved from 13th place to 7th place and made a good showing in the Tourn.
Other local bowlers from Pasadena and Pearland made a good showing as well in this Tourn. Mark Busscher and Dennis Francis finished 3rd, Rusty Ransdell and Long Jr., finished 10th, Kirk Harper and Charley Falco finish 16th.... Good bowling guys and had lots of fun bowling y'all in the finals. I just hope I don't end up giving y'all this crap I had and I'm still feeling the affects of....

Wes Mallott couldn't get a flight out of Ohio after the Roll to Riches and couldn't make the Tourn. to bowl with Tommy Crouch. Joe Paez bowled in his place. He is a good left handed bowler from the Alvin/Lake Jackson area, he was my Doubles partner last year at State....he did pretty well for Tommy bowling in Mallott's place.

Thanks David.... I was happily surprised I did as well as I did, considering how bad I felt the two previous days and still feeling weak Saturday. Jimmy Paulk and his wife swung by Saturday during qualifying and his wife wondered why my face and neck was as red as it was....lol... I was sweating pretty bad at different times during Saturdays qualifying, makes me wonder if my fever was totally gone or not....

Nice shooting Jeff.
I know this is going to sound corny, but I have shot some of my best scores when I felt like death warmed over. I think by not feeling good, it makes you not do extra stuff to the ball and your approach. Sometimes we get hyped up and think too hard and put undue pressure on ourselves to do great and when your sick, you kinda just go through the motions without thinking to hard. I know it sounds stupid...lol

I know it sounds stupid...lol Thanks Wine... No actually, that makes sense to me...... I was too tired to feel nervous or pressure to bowl well, so I could have executed better than normal, what your saying is very possible... and with the way I started off, I was wondering what I was going to be shooting as the day went on. We started on lanes 7 & 8 and that was the pair we got 15 mins. of practice and Jimmy and I still couldn't do any better than we did, which was 199 for Jimmy and 184 for me, it was just a bad pair. Ozio and Smurf caught that pair their 4th game and they shot 179 for Ozio and 193 for Smurf. That was the lowest game either one of them had and me as well in our set and it was on that pair....

I think, it's just one of those things that sometimes happen.....I wouldn't want to get sick before every big Tourn. in hopes of bowling better.....and I'm sure Wine wouldn't either....lol.... I know you were just messing with him....
