Well, perfect must not have gone to bowl... there is no news posted about his performance anyway... I'll check all bowling dot com and see if they have anything about the tournament No, I didn't bowl... I was really thinking about it up till about 2:00 pm but I had a lot of cleaning and laundry to do at the house and decided against it...

That tournament should help Mills in the HoF voting showing he can go compete against tough SCRATCH bowlers and do very very well. I heard it was a tough NON-HOUSE shot they bowled on, unlike SASBA that uses a house shot.

He's done it twice already and hasn't gotten in yet.... Says there is too much politics in Pasadena....his words, not mine.... I tend to agree with him. Both him and I have accomplished more in Pasadena and outside of Pasadena than anyone else in Pasadena period and neither one of us have been inducted yet..... but I'm hoping the third time is the charm for me......

I bowled the tourney also, finished in the top ten after starting out with 150 150 changed release and started going up 5 midway through the third game and struck out for 180 then shot 213, 177 for the last 2, I wish I would of started out playing the outside line earlier. by the way i think there was only 10-11 people that showed up not sure wich place I ended in but it wasnt last lol. Strikeing wasnt the proble as much as converting easy spares wich I have been missing alot of the past few months. that ended up being the difference in not cashing for me. The score were extremely low and the shot was difficult. +1 was leading after 3 and the next was - 30 to 40.

By the way the shot played very similar to the sport shot the first half. But the out of bounds was alot more playable than I had thought it was. struck on 90% of my attempts in practice and didnt even try the out side line lol untill midway through the third. Lesson learned I guess.

Lesson learned I guess. Always throw a few on and outside line in practice on a tough shot. Even if you don't use it at first, it could end up being better later in the Tourn. after the inside are burnt up, at least then you'll have an idea where to stand, what target and what ball you should be throwing, if you have to change to it, instead of fishing for it for 6 frames...JMO...

I was giddy at what I had in practice and couldnt believe how easy it was for me to strike. A little over confident I guess. When I switched to the outside shot I went in the ditch the first ball I tried out there, made a read and what i thought would be close from what I had seen mills doing and ended up sparring the full rack and went off the sheet. We moved pairs and had the same look, shot 213, moved again and ended up on the pair mills started on and had a great look on the left lane but squirley on the right lane didnt strike once on the right but every one on the left. i was happy I didnt give up and was able to learn something.

On a side note not many people have seen me play out by the ditch, just because you dont see me do it doesnt mean I cant. Jeremy said "man I wish I could throw that shot" I laughed a little and told him that he could if he practiced it. I remember one day at II I drilled up a new maxim plastic ball and was throwing it up 7 against jeremy and shot 280 with it .

Jeremy's game that he plays, makes it difficult to play up the outside, he's too open at the line. He has to swing the ball... The year that Steve Hofer and I won State Doubles in 86, we were playing straight up the 1st and 2nd board.....the lanes were dead a$$ slick and the only boards that had any movement were those two boards.... We were 100 pins over the 2nd place finishers....

Both him and I have accomplished more in Pasadena and outside of Pasadena than anyone else in Pasadena period and neither one of us have been inducted yet..... but I'm hoping the third time is the charm for me...... Funny, I have heard from 2 different sources that Mills was being submitted... by 2 different people. I understand the talk of politics concerning Hall of Fame inductees, but what I never hear is anyone offering proof that the inductess that got in instead of the one's overlooked were unworthy. That's why I think it's all a bunch of bulldoo doo. I'll say it again, there is a long list of worthy nominees. In fact, whomever doesn't get in this year out of the nominees I have heard will be submitted may well have to keep waiting. And, if there is a "service Nominee" elected, then the performance inductees drops to one... There may well be more bridesmaids than brides again this year. The true class is shown not at the acceptance speech, but rather at the reaction of not getting in... I have never heard Don Parnell, Mano, Boudny, me or my brother, Eddie Brod, Tommy Lawley or anyone else discredit any nominees that did not get elected. Too bad there is nominees that did not get elected that do not have the same reaction for those nominees that were recognized. Because there would be no talk of politics if that was the case. Plus, is it politics that keeps James Long Jr from being elected? His Dad is a longtime Hal of Famer and Board member too...
