Give the entire story next time. I was trying to figure out why Ozio had an extra game, now that i know the whole story, here is why. You forgot to mention the game after the Ozio/Young match.
"OZIO TAKES TEXAS OPEN FOR HIS THIRD GBT TITLE"
Round Rock, TX - David Ozio is in the driver’s seat now toward becoming the first Generations Pro Bowling Tour Bowler of the Year. He defeated last week's winner, Dave Soutar 239-212 at Interstate Lanes Monday evening to win the $8,000 top prize and his third GBT title. He is now tied with Dale Eagle with three titles, and one of his was a major in Toledo early in the season.
In the title Match, Ozio took a commanding lead through the first six frames, but a 1-2-7 washout in the seventh frame gave Soutar a chance to get back in the match. Soutar jumped on the opportunity with three strikes in frames 7-9, but Ozio recovered to get a huge strike in the ninth for a double. He then added the first one in the tenth to wipe out Soutar's chance to catch him. 'Soupy' earned $4,500 for second.
"I just told myself when I got up in the ninth, throw a world class shot," said Ozio. "I threw a terrible shot in the seventh, and being the great champion he is, I knew he would jump on my error. I have a hard time repeating good shots when I have to throw it slow, and that's what happened in the seventh. Lucky for me, I had room to come back and shut him out.”
Soutar almost didn't bowl the event because of a recurring back ailment, but it got better during the practice session and he ended up bowling for the title two weeks in a row. "He let me back in with the washout," said Soutar, "and I was hoping he would give me a chance at the end , but he threw a great shot, and that was it. Still, starting out the week with a bad back, I'm happy. It's been a pretty good two weeks."
In earlier matches, Ozio defeated Jimmy Young 226-223 and Young defeated Mark Roth 256-212 and Jim King 248-178. In the Classic division, Soutar defeated Dale Eagle 226-221 and Gary Dickinson 192-179. Prior to that Dickinson beat Roger West 225-160.
The Generations Pro Bowling Tour will conclude its inaugural season with the final event in Houston April 19-23 at Emerald Bowl.

They have two divisions...Senior and Classic... The winner of each Division bowl each other for a 3,500.00 extra, winner take all and the Trophy and the Title.....Jimmy did finish 2nd in his division to Ozio.... I think Classic is the 60 and up age group....which Dave Soutar won.
I wasn't trying to leave anything out, was just trying to give a local bowler some kudos for bowling well...I didn't think it was necessary to go into the whole format of the tourn.

They are at Emerald this weekend. It's a shame I'm bowling all weekend at Alpha. I wouldn't mind going over there and watch these OLD FARTS kick butt.

Go ahead and put up a good number this weekend Whine ... Give me something to shoot at next weekend when I bowl ;D
btw, we bowled the no taps tonight at AMF Clear Lake ... i shot 876, only leaving the bucket in the 7th frame of the 2nd game, had 10 natural strikes the 1st game and 11 natural strikes the 3rd game ... my pops shot 890, he only left the bucket in the 1st frame of the 1st game ... we finished 3rd and 2nd to a guy from Katy that shot 816 on a 166 average, so he got 90 pins handicap for a 906!!!

Wow... maybe you could prebowl for the Armadilla $$ league at that place... Believe it or not Alpha is even easier than Arm I and Arm II... Let's start with Saturday...the oil machine broke down on our pair, they fixed it and continued to oil the remaining lanes. I was looking down everywhere else and saw people missing the headpin right. Even Gene Hall had to move right of his normal shot he plays at Armadilla. I was standing 10 boards left of where I normally stand at armadilla and still had problems keeping the ball on the right side. I managed a 621 with 3 opens. I don't care for the ball returns there. They stick out to far and you can't move left enough on the right lane. Sunday we had a little more oil and as the day went on, the left lane got slicker and the right lane got drier. Go figure, I was having to stand on the ball return again. Shot (S)685, (D)642, for a 1948 all-events. Skipper shot around 2050 or so. I don't know how Gene Hall did Sunday, but he did shoot 700+ in Team Saturday. Hey Charlie A...Paul was throwing his spare ball as his first ball on Saturday during Team...that's how dry our pair was. He didn't think it would hook enough and I told him it would and he threw it and started striking...lol.

That's never a good feeling, seeing the lane machine breakdown before starting a Tourn. I couldn't help but thing, what crap was the machine putting down before it broke and if they did get it running, what will it put out after they get it running.....lol.....
From what I remember from Alpha last year in a Clear Lake Chamber of Commerce "Moonlight No Tap" Tourn. they had a year ago. The shot was a dry block. Had to swing 3rd arrow with my Hammer Blade... Shot like 860 something. The oil did push down a little after 2 games...
But still not bad shooting Wine....
