SASBA's Mixed 4 man Team Tournament is this weekend up in Plano. Bob E., Kristy K. and myself along with Randy Weekes from Louisiana are going to give it a shot. We tied for 16th last year for last place in the cash but was knocked out of the cash because the other team had more total pins than we did. I won 8 of my 10 matches last year, hope I can do that again this year.
With the last week of the Womens special tour series finishing up this weekend, some of the ladies that normally bowl this will not be there, like Shannon P. and Tiffany S. and some others but Lynda Barnes will be there bowling. So, we're really happy to have Kristy on our team. The lane assignments of all that are bowling, are now up on the SASBA website.
Wish us luck, we can always use it.... ;D

I really think we can get into the cash this year and hopfully the top 10. Mike Holland really hurt us last year winning only 2 of his 10 matches and causing us to lose a team game or two. Dennis Francis highly recommended Randy Weekes after Jimmy Young had to back out. And with the field of women being a little weaker than normal, I'm hoping Kristy will win most of her matches. Bob has been throwing the ball great lately and hope he can continue that in Plano.
Which reminds me, Jimmy Young told me that his wife Debbie has cancer and is having surgery this coming Monday at the LSU medical facility in Shreveport. So wish them luck and hope everything turns out good. That's why he can't bowl this weekend.

Well we did pretty good in Plano this weekend for this Tourn. Kristy won 7 of her 10 matches, Randy Weekes won 6 of his 10, I was 5 & 5.... We were in 7th place after our 5 games on Saturday, winning 4 of 5 team games and 48 points, we were only 6 points from 1st place. With every game being a position round except the first game, we caught the better teams every game, so we were pretty happy.
On Sunday, we won our first two games and had moved up to 3rd place but lost our 3rd game to Tam and Lisa Wasson, Mark Estes & Jaime Brook's team again. The only reason we lost to them Saturday, was because Jaime Brooks shot a 297 at us. We shoot a 972 for four people and lost, that was tough. But after losing our 3rd game to them again Sunday, we dropped to 8th place but came back and won our 4th game and moved up to 5th place. All we needed to do was to win this last game and we would have moved into 3rd place and possibly 2nd if we would have swept them, for the Stair-Step Finals. But unfortunately, we catch a team with 2 left handers and the right side on the pair we caught, the track had fried and we got swept and dropped to 9th place. I was averaging about 235 Sunday and shot a 172 the last game, the pair was so bad. But that's the breaks and we had fun. The team that beat us, moved into 2nd place for the roll offs. It was Mike Fleming, and the Woessner family. But anyways, we got 1,020.00 for 9th in the Tourn. and 600.00 for the Calcutta, so we ended up getting 405.00 ea. We bought ourselves for 100.00.... the min.... What a steal....lol... Jaime said we were too good of a team to go that low, guess we proved him right...lol...
Chris Barnes made an appearance Sunday with his boys to watch Lynda bowl, I'm not even sure if her team cashed. Kristy said when he came in, well I guess we know who didn't make the TV show Sunday....lol.... I looked at her and said what?.... She said look behind you up by the desk, then I laughed and said oh....I guess not.....since he's here....
Kudos to Kristy Krol Saturday, winning all 5 of her matches, shooting games of 240+, 240+, 260+, 230+ and 250+. I think she shot 1241 for her 5 games and beat all the women and all but 7 men total in all age groups combined. She was a striking machine. I was only 1135 for Saturday myself and she ran all over me....lol... I went like 258, 217, 215, 214 and 231 and lost 3 of my 5 matches but came back Sunday and won 3 of 5 matches. But remember, all of our games were against the top 7 teams of the Tourn. except our first game Saturday. So we were bowling the better teams every game.

Congrats Isn't Plano Jamie Brook's center? If it is being in the know about how Jamie feels about lefties don't start crying about catching a team with 2 left handers and that cause y'all to lose!! If the track FRIED the backends must've tightened up with all the carrydown. Isn't that where the oil goes when the track starts hooking? Sounds to me like your team had a chance to make the stair step finals and CHOKED by getting swept in the last match. #bsflag# Low game of the tournament the very last game? Sounds like a choke to me!!!!! It was still a nice finish for y'all and it's good to hear that you actually made some money this time. Maybe if Kristie would have bowled anchor and you bowled the woman your team would have lead qualifying !!!!!! #nutkick# Good bowling anyway see y'all tonight xbom

Thanks, XBOM, see you tonight....
The thing is, with the position round 1 & 2 place pair always moving 1 pair to the right, we actually caught the same pair for the final game, that we won our 4th game on Sunday and I just shot 237 I think on that same pair.... I started off /,X / and when I tried to make adjustments on the left lane, (the lane giving me all the problems really that 5th game) all I got was over and under reaction. And Brady Woessner a lefty I was bowling against went /XXXXXXXX/X for a 260 something game... and he was swinging 3rd arrow to anywhere outside of 2nd arrow and flushing the pocket. That made it very hard for me compete and keep a positive attitude.... but I tried....: )

So you should have altered your game and taken a GIANT step left and strapped on it swinging the whole lane not just moved an 1/8 of a board left with you feet and a 1/16 of a board left with your eyes!!!!

I did do that, but couldn't get my ball to turn the corner consistently, much less carry.... I needed a more aggressive ball with the right drill pattern to do that. I didn't try my Power Machine in real deep and I should have. I'm sure I would have done better than a 172 but by the 5th and 6th frames, I was out of my match and as a team, we were down over a 100 pins already.... So I felt there wasn't any use in trying.... We ended up losing that last game by over 200 and it was our only game as a team under 800.... And yes, Jaime Brooks is the owner.....

Yes, this was the first time we cashed in this particular SASBA event.... but I have cashed in over 1/2 of my M/G SASBA Events I've bowled for the last 3 or 4 years.... I cashed in both M/G last year with two different Seniors. And I was the one carrying them to the finals. Actually of all Seniors and Guests that bowled both of those events, in Qualifying I knocked more down than everyone except Mark Williams and Crossroads is his house which gave him an advantage at one of the two houses they were bowled in. I even knocked more down than David Ozio and Smurf and all the other PBA Regional Bowlers that bowled both events....
So when you say "good finish for y'all" you make it sound as if we can't compete and don't belong with the other elites....I would have to differ with you...

I never said you couldn't compete as a team and you didn't belong in the tournament!!!! I don't always try and tear you down. I didn't know congradulating someone on their good finish in a tournament was giving them a hard time #doghouse#

The final standings are now up on the SASBA website, if anyone wants to take a look. www.sasba.com/120107.htmI was averaging 230.33 until my last game and lost my reaction on the left lane from the track frying and shot 172.
