Heard last night around 10:00 pm that two idiot kids were drag racing down Underwood, while racing (and I don't know all the facts) one of the cars racing hit another car head on. The women inside this other car was Danette Bounds, (Mike Bounds wife). She was taken to the hospital and later died. They bowled last year at Armadilla I on Monday night's and may have been as well this year. Jack Simmons and I have known Mike for 20 years plus. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mike at this time of tragedy.

Danna had called me yesterday about this wondering if I'd heard. This accident apparently happened Wednesday night? I hadn't heard of the drag racing but I did hear she was life flighted to Hermann Hospital and was on her death bed. A tragic loss to Mike and his family. She was a very sweet girl. I'll have them in my thoughts and prayers as well. Jimmy Fields

I don't know if it happened yesterday or Wednesday, it could have been Wednesday. I heard about it from Jack Simmons last night and he heard from Eddie Brod. I don't know who Eddie heard it from. I only know what I was told.

Don't get defensive Mr. P. Just letting you know when I heard it and hadn't heard of the drag racing story. Really doesn't matter the world lost a beautiful woman for no reason

That is a terrible, senseless tragedy. What do our younger kids think? Ever since that stupid 2Fast 2Furious movie came out, these kids all think they are racers. I hope that person is charged and punished to the full extent of the law. My heart goes out to Mike and Dannette's family and friends, and my prayers for their strength. I hope all young people, and all people, read these and realize how many lives can be ruined in a split second

I just talked to Jack Simmons 30 mins. ago and had just gotten off the phone with Mike. He couldn't talk long, he was at the funeral home in a meeting. He is suppose to call him back. As soon as I can find out some details of the wake and funeral, I will let everyone know.

This is such tragic news. I met Mikes wife a year or so ago and she seemed like a really nice person.
I feel so bad for Mike and his family as well as hers.Things like this just shouldn't happen.
My thoughts and prayers will be with Mike during his time of grief.
