I wonder these days if modern technology has ruined things for us. What I mean is that today we are lossing valuable social skills in our current generation. Along with this is the corruption and corrosion of current moral standards.
Now I will admit that not all of the corrosion in moral values can be attested to technology, but the access that it has provided had allowed for more to be transfered into the mainstream. On the other hand though the technology has allowed for more transportation of real knowledge and at a much quicker pace than the old fashioned way. However, the ease and ability has also brought forth the trangresions of poor information surviving longer and transfering to more people than it used to as well. The misinformation is maybe the biggest danger out there as since it is posted on the net you find people that automatically assume it is true.
Sadly, another truth is that social skills have been lost. When professional chatroom posters get into the real world they are lost without such witty responses as LOL and BRB. It is really sad that such amazing typers cannot formulate their ideas without a qwerty board near them.
Another sad thing about modern technology is the absence that family plays in soooo many things that the family used to play a part in. Google bots and webMD take the place of babysitters and doctors. Grandma's motherly advice is now found on netscape's homepage, fatherly advice is now found on ProBoards GT, and everyone has a blog to read.
Now I have not forgotten the important impact that modern technology has played in our lives in that they are longer lives, the world really has become smaller, and such. But I wonder..........have we forsaken sooo much of the really good in our modern age???

Their Meds may be cheaper at the counter but you pay a lot more in taxes for it...... and for surgury...sometimes you have to wait for months before you can get it..... There's more to Health Care than just cheap meds...JMO...
