In this weeks thought, I bring up something that bothers me. Today’s word is all about equality…now this wouldn’t bother me if we were talking about basic rights, but I mean that people expect and really think that everyone should be treated the same under all circumstances. This is crazy talk!
Prime example of this is that they don’t want to give out “F” any more in schools. They don’t want to hurt the “ego” of the student who “just didn’t do well this go around.” WHAT?!?!? That is crap, the student FAILED cause he didn’t measure up. Failure is a good thing to have around. And yes, failing is sometimes the greatest thing.
When your team fails to make it to the big game, or fails to win the big game, if you really want to win, really want to be the best, you will try harder. I admit, it sucks to fail, no one wants to fail unless they want the attention, but it is part of life. When you fail in life you try harder, but today’s society doesn’t believe in that. We want our kids to think that everyone wins by giving everyone a trophy, and make them all the same size, even though you really were the 1st place team.
