Just a note to acknowledge the event that will define our generation.
Who would have thought it would take a terrorist attack on our country to finally close the book on O.J.
I was in the Bahamas for work... the weather was rainy due to a tropical storm... and stranded for the entire week due to no travel allowed into the US. Even Boat travel was not allowed... many of us were considering taking a yacht "cruise" into Ft. Lauderdale, attempt to rent a car and drive to our homes.
We were not allowed. The government had closed the borders.
It wasn't a great feeling.

That had to suck... but you should have taken a flight as close to the US/Mexican border and just walked across the Rio Grande with all the other illegals that walk across everyday.....lol... Then, rented a car in Brownsville or where ever and drove back....lol...
I was at work watching the new coverage. Saw the second plane hit the other tower as it happened.....It was aweful...

But we use them exclusively..(they just do our jobs) I don't know if they are all legal or not but I'm sure some to possibly many may not be..... But all the big commercial contractors and residential contractors sub their labor out, it's very a common practice. Our Superintendents are in-house and supervise all the work for quality.

I was at work. I was working at BP in Pasadena at the time. The lady I was working with had just got back from vacation which they went to New York. She was telling me that she was up on top of the Towers that Sunday.

I remember the weather was absolutely gorgeous that day - beautiful blue skies and low humidity for Houston.
Although my company has a building in NY, we had a team of 10-people working in the Twin Towers that week, most of them from other cities, two of them from Houston. It was several days before would could account for everyone. All of them were safe, but severely traumatized.
We also had a client from Italy that flew into Houston from New York the night before..... he was in the towers on Monday. The man was a basketcase ... watching and knowing that all the people he worked with on Monday were gone...... they were working in the building above where the planes hit.
I also remember how eerie it was to not hear planes flying over the house..... except for the fighter jets around midnight.

I was working up here at Bush Intercontinental Airport when all H E L L broke loose. It was crazy out here and if I remember right, I didn't leave till VERY late that night. We went into high alert mode and was barracading everything. Our concern was the name of the airport BUSH. It remained a living H E L L for several months after that.

I was working in Pasadena when I heard about it. I thought it was a joke when I first heard about it. Everyone went into the conference room and turned on the news. It was a scary thing to watch over and over again. I went to New York that June and already bought my ticket to go back at the end of September. I cancelled my trip and still haven't been back.
I just flew back into Vegas today. The security lines were longer than they usually are for Monday morning commuters. It didn't take long to get through them. Usually people standing in line are talking to one another. Today they were mostly quiet and everyone was looking around non-stop. We had a quiet flight here. There are usually a bunch of loud people on the plane all hyped up about going to Vegas but not today.

Mike said it was the strangest thing to climb the tanks at work and not have a plane in the sky. It was like that for a long time around here. I just remember the horror and disbelief that people could do something like that. I feel very fortunate not to have lost a loved one due to this whole conflict. My daughter and her friends have several friends in the military and they are still over there on and off. I don't feel the crisis is near over, we have just relaxed. I heard an interview with the Vice President and he said our security has been trained better and that is the reason we haven't had any more attacks. Seemed like he was challenging the demons if you ask me.
