Not the start I wanted, but how about Burke? Who would have thought it? Do you think they will start him tomorrow? Hopefully Oswalt will be on and Mulder's sore arm will help us.

No hitting with runners in scoring position. Garner got outmanaged by LaRussa. Let's get the split tomorrow and come home and win it.

If your players can't hit the ball out of the infield with runners in scoring position isn't the managers fault its the players.

Lets not get too down on the Astros. St. Louis won the opening game at home, duh...thats what was suppose to happen. They had thier ace pitcher in, he is suppose to stop us from scoring. After thinking about it, look at it this way. We crack his veneer by getting some hits and scoring some. We weren't suppose to do that. Pettitt wasn't 100% since he got hit by a line drive in batting practice. Don't know who's bone head move that was to have him running the bases when guys are having batting practice. What concerns me more is that Oswalt hasn't been able to stop St. Louis from hitting him all year. Lets hope he can tonight. If we come home with a split we will be in excellent position.

I am not down on them, BUT - the umpire was bad on both sides, and it got to where Carpenter and Pettit were having to throw straight over the middle of the plate waist high strikes to get a call, and our guys couldn't hit the meat. It wasn't the tough, off pitches that got them, it was the grooved up the middle pitches that threw them off. but, they had traveled and were on a high from sunday and now they are back to normal hopefully. Splitting will be great!!

In my opinion, Garner was outmanaged when St. Louis squeezed in the run... everybody in the stadium knew it was going to happen... Garner called the pitchout with a 1-0 count... now it's 2-0, there is no way they are going to pitch out again... so LaRussa calls for the squeeze.... that's being outmanaged.

True.... but that could also be luck of the draw, who's to say if we pitched the first or even the second one in there, the squeeze wouldn't have happened. We may have gotten the same result, just 1 or 2 pitch's earlier. Besides that 1 run was not the difference in the game. We never got the key hits to drive in runs, that is where we lost the game IMO....

WOW! What a game. How about Burke, the boy is on fire. To come home with a win from St. Louis is HUGE!!! Lets hope they keep the momentum going. I hope Clemens and Backe tear them up Saturday and Sunday, cuz I can't imagine Pettitt getting rocked twice.

He wasn't at his best, but only 5 runs to the Cards and what they can do isn't getting rocked. Plus they may not have Sanders tomorrow, and he may not be as good as he was before he got hurt from here on out. Go Astros!!!!

You know his tailbone hurts. Not to mention the headache from his head hitting.
