Can't find the what you bowled where thread, so I'll start a new one.
Congrats to Fraul for 300/ 755 @ Armadilla I on the Latecomers League.
G-Man had 718, rjj had 608, O'fer bowled his average, rjj, jr. was a little under her average. We won ONE (1) GAME.
The other team was getting 469 sticks/ game. We were getting 133, we were spotting 336 pins handicap.
They had a lady with a 94 average shoot 459....
I mean I hate to be a sore loser, but give me friggin' break... she had 798 handicap series last night. Her first game she had 301 handicap..... the same score Fraul had with HIS handicap.... of 1 pin.... 300 and we lose by 75 pins....
Overall for the night, we were 150 pins OVER our team average.... + 10/ game/ bowler and we lose 3.......
By the way....... handicap is 90% of 220. And we are VERY lucky it's not higher....
And the YAWHOOS that go to the meeting wonder why we complain about high handicaps.... they never believe event like last night happen... after rjj was outlining occurences from last year, one guy walked up to G-Man and asked him what place we finished last year, 2nd or 3rd...... it was 10th or 11th.....
Oh well, part of you feels good for the lady, first time she has bowled in 11 years..... set he crappy average last week, and now the 2nd week bowls probably closer to what she will end up with.......

At Arm II, We won all 4 games.... I was consistent, 216, 202, 227 for a 645.... Lanes are still much dryer than last years shot... Talked to RR, he said he would look around the league and ask a few people what they think.... So if he does that, I'll be happy if he changes anything or not. At least he listened to me and took what I had to say under consideration.... Thanks RR, I do appreciate it... I actually hit the pocket a lot but the 10 pin was eating me up.... Missed 1 out of 15 I think...lol... Tech shoots 643, Jack S. shoots 649....had to carry Roger B's average. John U couldn't make it last night to sub for Roger B. And Steven Crawford got in a fairly bad auto accident yesterday, had to carry a vacancy again last night and he is uncertain at this time, if he'll be able to bowl next week... Also, Great Bowling Fraul...

Well…great bowling. It does suck to have the handicap SOOO high cause it just makes it too hard for a team of good bowlers to win. By bowling good bowlers, people bowl better cause they feel they have to. As such, the lower average bowlers tend to come “out of their shoes” against the higher average teams and they end up crushing them. I hate to remind people…but it is a sport. Would anyone play football if there was a handicap system that gave teams with less performance the last season more points? Would baseball be any fun if the team with a worse record got to start the game ahead 2 runs?

Valid points, but, professionally, players are paid to play those sports, and one of the detriments to bowling is that it is a hobby or pasttime, and there is the business aspects to consider..... The house has to appeal to a number of different types of customers to maintian their profitability, and by having the better bowlers win all the time is not conducive to their bottom line.....

Also, Great Bowling Fraul... Well, I thought the lanes were hooking, but, my first ball speed average is down, under 15 mph. So, that may be a factor of why I was playing so deep on the lane. My ball is a very non-agressive ball.... a Roto Grip Mercury. It seems to be a good ball. Fraul shot 300 with a Roto Grip RS-1.... maybe you need to look into a less aggressive cover stock and weight block combination....

Good points. I agree the house has to make its money and it is more of a recreational sport. I wish that there was a house that was central…that could be very large or maybe have a multiple night league that would allow for a large money league. I think the league has to know what it is. Monday is a MONEY league…meaning that we expect the handicap to be less and that the higher you place you will get an even bigger portion of the prize fund…and that 1st and 2nd at least will make money.

I don't know. He could alway be telling you what you want to hear. ;D It's possible but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now... Well, part of the bowling management process is listening to your bowlers. The other part, is of course, running your centers as you best decide. If, the management sees no problems with the maintenance procedures they have in place, then the complaints or concerns expressed by one individual may be dismissed. Therefore, by surveying other patrons, they are indicating a desire to provide conditions best suited for a variety of bowlers.... not just one, whom happens to have a history of voicing complaints about lane maintenance. If, they think the lane conditions are acceptable, we will see how perfect reacts.... he can biatch, p**s and moan, or he can adapt HIS game and equipment to the conditions offered..... which, he should probably have done in the first place.... but, the new, dare I say, "improved" perfect, in his charitable, servicable new form, is just making sure the house is aware there are differences in the shot, and it may be causing concern among some of the bowlers.... he is just the little bowlers version of the honorable Reverend Jesse Jackson... looking out for the weak.... the impoverished... a voice for the voiceless.......

How the heck did we win 3? I thought we only won 1. Regardless thats a bonus to win those three. I bowled descent but not up to my potential, I dont even remember what my games were but I think I shot 600 at least. We will see what happens tonight though.
