Can you tell us how we go about nominating someone for the Association Manager? Are there forms to fill out and "resumes" to complete? Deadlines? I very rarely see anyone on the nominating committee and I also understand that Rusty has stepped down, and don't know who his replacement is. Are communications regarding such only happening within the Board of Directors' meetings or are communications planned for announcements during the fall leagues?

The Nominating Committee is going to present their information to the Transition Team at some point. They have developed an application for the prospective Board Members and I am assuming for the Association Manager's position.
I had not heard that Rusty had stepped down from the Nominating Committee. You would think I might have heard that as Team Leader, but, I did hear he is interested in the Association Manager's job, so, there is a conflict of interest as USBC states, "Nominating Committee members should not be prospective board candidates". Seems like that would also apply to prospective Manager candidates.
There are plans is place to promote and inform all happenings and events to the Fall bowlers.

I apologize mentioning I had "heard" a committee member possibly stepping down. That was clearly out of line and should not have been brought up on this forum.
I am overly anxious and deeply interested in lobbying for sincere individuals who will devote their time and energies to making the new Pasadena USBC association a respected entity -- and to avoid voting for people simply because they are well known, but very rarely make an appearance at any event and only attend meetings sometimes. I just wanted to get the ball rolling as quickly as possible! Thanks for the info! I will wait patiently until the procedures are in place and ready to go.

I agree with your logic.
Hopefully, the bowlers that attend the open meeting on January 14, 2006, will vote on performance and not reputation.

Just to update, the Transition to USBC is an everchanging event, and we are still learning things as we go... I don't know if that is because they are changing things Nationally, but, they even told us, things have chaned since the first communications.
One difference, we were under the impression locally, that the even distribution of representation extended to the election of the first Board. To explain, we have 15 representatives on the Transition Team, 5 each representing the PBA, PWBA and PYABA. OUr proposed board will be 21 members. 20%, or 5 are required to be elected by the Youth Committee, the other 16 we thought had to be split equally between PBA and PWBA nominations, but, that is incorrect. The other 16 Directors will be elected from the ballot at the meeting in January. While we may recommend an even distribution, we cannot require it, or vote it in that way.
The 16 positions include officer positions, we elect the new President first, the 2 or 3 VP's, not decided on the number of those yet, then the 12 or 13 Directors will come from the open election.

No, only stating that the 20% representaton from the Youth guarantee is the only one that is required for us.....

Just a reminder for those interested in running for a spot on the new USBC Board, the deadline for applications is November 18, 2005.
The applications are at the desk @ both centers. They may be turned in to a member of the nominating committee, Verna Kennedy, Rusty Ransdell or Gretchen Harmon.
Nominations will be accepted from the floor at the Initial Organizational Meeting, January 14, 2006. But, by filing out an application early, your name will already be on the ballot, and will save a lot of trouble by being a "write in" the day of elections.
Thanks.
