wow..10 teams...what a league...what will the money be like with only 10 teams? Hey snake whomever you may be if Armadilla Dollars adopts the same franchise fee at $40 a person the prize fund for the league will be somewhere around $22,000 I don't know if you bowl or not but have you ever bowled in only a 10 team league that had a prize fund of over $20,000 dollars That's what i thought

bow....I am a bowler...but to me it still sounds like the Diamond Lanes prize fund is better over all. 14-16 teams at this time. And people who are looking for a MONEY league might not mind bowling anywhere. Diamond has done some to improve the house, little by little. As a tested by PbaHofer. Just think 10 teams over 36 weeks..a little repeatitive. Not being mean about it though. There are no great money leagues on this side of town. You make 12,000 first on a league...then you have the best MONEY league around our side of town. Maybe next year the Monday night league at II will be better....but they have a quote "high average league on Tuesdays over there already...really hard to run those 2 leagues back to back anf have them be succesful. anyway...will be checking out the Monday league to see how it goes off....

I think you are wrong when you say people looking for a money league will not mind bowling anywhere. They are tired of the broken promises. Tell me what improvements have been done this summer. I was told by a reliable source that they haven't done much, and not near as much as they promised this summer. I can't attest to that myself just going on what I was told. If it is true then it sound like the same ole same ole if you ask me. But you could be correct that it will be difficult for Arm II to have two "high average leagues" back to back, but I wouldn't count on your 14 or 16 teams until you actually see them walk in. Cuz unless you got a whole lot of new bowlers, I don't know where those are coming from.

I have heard there are some Baytown bowlers coming to Diamond for Monday nights..........
Diamond may be an upgrade from what they are experiencing in Baytown from what I have heard some of the bowlers say....
The new management @ Diamond is attracting some of Arm II's bowlers over for the summer, and they may stay on and bowl in the fall. This is all just hearsay I am talking about, I don't know.
If some of the Mega Bucks bowlers that were dissatisfied with their experiences last year moved to Arm II, then the Armadilla $$ league could have a decent turnout.
Some of the people may elect to return to Diamond based on however many teams they are advertising, but I too would not believe it until I see it. 14 - 16 teams would translate into an almost complete rebuild of the league, as I KNOW there was at least that many teams that weren't coming back.
Regardless, new bowlers in Pasadena is only good for the Association, and I hope many of these new bowlers will support our efforts and bowl in our tournaments and City tournament next year.

I can tell you some of the changes I noticed during re-certification.... many of the pin decks and side boards have been repaired or replaced.... last year, you had to be careful and watch out for splinters and sharp edges... they have done some work on that stuff. I saw no evidence of new carpet, or scoring or re-vamped bathrooms, which I seem to remember was some of the complaints registered by bowlers last year. I DO KNOW, I would NOT want Pasadena to become a (1) center city.... That would be bad for bowling...

Untill they figure something out on how to fix the approaches to where the yare consistant I wont bowl league there, I might still bowl the scratch tourney every once in awhile but no leagues. I am looking at bowling at II on mondays but I am not quite sure with who or if its a gauranteed thing just an option.

I would agree that it would be a sad day for Pasadena to have only one center. Not too long ago there was three centers.

This will be untill I get my selective hearing worked out lol.

I will say this...as someone who generally doesn't complain about a bad shot, a minor glitch in the machines, etc...I found bowling at diamond to be a nightmare. I would have to hear about some serious changes to go back. And while I love bowling money leagues for the challenge, I do care where it is. Not for the drive problem, but for conditions. I could care less if the shot is hard, I just care that the shot is consistant. I do not want to set a high average on a shot and then have to bowl on a hard *** shot against a team that is getting 100+ pins in handicap. If we are talking scratch, then I could care less, but when you include the handicap aspect, it is unfair to bowl in a house like that.

BOM and Roger, let me know if you have any teams that are incomplete and looking...I doubt that I will be able to put a team together...so let me know if you know of anyone looking.
