#thcheerleader# #party-smiley-017# Thanks!!!!!!!! I had a good week on 1 & 2 this week. Monday had 751 and Tuesday we had the same pair starting on the same lane. I didn't expect much after 751 on Monday but I had games of 288 ( front 10 and then threw the ball like I'd never been there before #smileys-gif-127_0# #doh# 2nd game I missed a 10 pin in the 8th and struck out for 223 for 511 after 2 games #clap# The third game I left a light 4 pin in the first spared and flushed the next 11 for 801 #thcheerleader# #thcheerleader# for a total 6 games of 1552 a 258 average for the week. Now I only hope the next time I catch 1 & 2 this season I shoot at least 600. I might have used up all my luck for the season #angel# Good Bowling Man!!!!!!!!!!

We were on 9 & 10 last night, the approaches were better, lane 10 got a little tacky in some areas later on but that's just league bowlers planting their heal and grinding it into the approaches...what can be done about that?...nothing....
Well "Smooth up-n-You" won 4 last night and moved into a tie for 1st place for this quarter with two weeks to go... We shot 3,385 scratch as a team with Jack S. shooting 681, John J. and I both had 685 and Roger B. shooting 711 I think..and Steven C. shooting 623.... Way to go team... #thcheerleader# ...and we even had a lefty shoot 806 against us throwing plastic....He had the world, he could throw the ball between 12 to 4 any where down the lane and hit the pocket....he had no clue as to where the ball was going and still could strike at will.... I guess it goes like that at times.... Wish I was left handed...lol...NOT....lol...

Thank goodness your AREN'T Lefthanded... LH's have a bad enough reputation without claiming you as one of them.....

I find it hilarious that every other bowler does not know how to "slide", "plant", or for that matter bowl, or the lanes are never "Perfect"... Also when a fellow "LH" has the world he does not know how to bowl?? If my memory serves me correct the only lefty that I know that throws a plastic ball is Jeff J., and you are saying he does not know how to hit the same spot consistantly?? I just find it funny that someone that bowls tournaments does not know how to adjust to any of the conditions and still score well, I believe that is why bowling is challenging, I would rather have to find the shot, which i must say have not done very well the past few months, but when you do find it and the conditions are tough (which they are not at Arm.) then that makes the score that much sweeter.... Ok i am off my #soapbox# now... Have a Great Day!

Jeff J was @ Arm I last night... I asked him to sub for me, but, he conveniently left his equipment @ home... he didn't want to bowl... so I suffered through a highly non-competitive 530 series... I threw 3 gutter balls... one in the left gutter, 2 in the right gutter...
AWESOME!!

I can't remember his name.... he's not anyone I know and if you were to see his approach and delivery..... I swear you would say the same thing.....it is very unorthodox and it's amazing he could ever hit a 5 board area, 50 % of the time (and he didn't last night, we all were watching in amazment...lol..)...His back swing is high, his arm is no where near his body in his back swing or follow through, shoulders and body open, cups his wrist, twists and slings the ball left....You'd have to see it to believe...lol.... Now if it had been Falco or Ron Bridges, Jeff J. it would have totally been a different story. Those guys are consistent, accurate good bowlers and ones I'd expect to have shot that well before believing this guy would have....

Bowled a little better last night than Monday night, went 219, 212 and 269 for a 700.... couldn't carry till the last game but felt better about my timing and release. I think things are starting to come together for me. We lost 3 games though, we were giving up 290 something pins a game. Went from tied for 1st to 5th for next weeks position round but still only 1-1/2 games out. We'll have to win 4 and hope other teams split 2-2 for us to have a chance to win this quarter.

Thanks Homersan...... It wasn't a great series but I'll take it considering my up and down bowling lately...lol.. Really felt I should have scored better than that, felt I was really rolling the ball well last night. Couldn't carry on the right lane the first game, couldn't carry consistently the second game either and missed a 10 pin spare on top of that...dumb a$$ me...lol... Finally came together the 3rd game... a stone 9 pin the first frame and a 7 pin in the 7th I think, then went off the sheet...

We took it to Jimmy and Jeremy's team Tuesday night, winning all 4 with a 3485 team scratch series.... I went 220, 225 and 268 for a 714.. Roger B. went 740 something, Jack S. went 716. Unfortunately, Randy R's team won all four as well and we ended up in 2nd place. But I won 3 of 6 brackets, which was better than Monday night's results in the brackets for me....lol...

Is it a coincidence that the lanes are so good at that house on Tuesday nights, and only Tuesday nights, the night Randy Ray bowls? The scores are always so much higher there on tuesdays. It can't be the bowlers, alot of them are the same bowlers on Monday nights. Too bad managers have such an influence on a game everyone likes so much.

I heard that there was only 4 - 700's shot Tuesday night, and all on our pair (7 & 8). Our team had three of them and Clint S. on Jimmy's team had the other....I don't know for sure if that is true but it may be. I believe Roger B. told me, since he is league Secretary and see's all the recaps. I know Randy and even though we haven't always seen eye to eye on some things in the past, I do know that Randy R. doesn't mess with the shot for his pair to be better than other pairs on the same night. If the shot is changed, it's done on all the pairs..... No one gets a special shot for a pair, including him.... They have a good team and don't need a special shot to beat anyone.... Of the last four or five years I've bowled this league, I don't think Randy's team has won this league. So, if he's trying to put out a special shot for his team, he's doing a poor job of it....JMO... And the scores or averages on Monday night by many of the bowlers that bowl Monday and Tuesday at Arm II, I think Monday's averages are higher...JMO...Mine are about the same....

The shot is much better on mondays for me...... and Randy went through the nose 5 or 6 times in a row the last game after adjusting so I dont think they get a special shot....... My average is at least 7 pins lower on tuesdays than it is on mondays

My average is at least 7 pins lower on tuesdays than it is on mondays My experience with Randy and shots is that he doesn't set a special shot for his pair... with those high tech machines I dont' even know if that is possible... once you program the oil pattern in, I don't think it could be changed lane to lane anyway... in the past when I bowled the nights Randy bowled it did seem like he would react to the conditions from week to week and make adjustments to the shot each week he bowled... based on the previous weeks scores or conditions... I have heard remarks that the shot was analyzed each and every week on the nights he bowled and it drove some employees crazy... This has been several years ago when he was bowling on Wednesdays @ Arm I... Can't say what goes on @ Arm II... that place may as well be another planet when compared to Arm I...
