I'm not sure about the oily shot or not, I was just raggin' on whoever was reading... lol The eliminator cuts last night with 15 entries, 176, 174, then to cash was 235 (rudy), 189 (Erik), 181 (charlie mills)... the 2nd game, out of the 10 advancing, BigJle was high with a 198. Erik had 2 open frames for the night. It is funny watching the bowlers and their reactions... many still consider it to be a novelty, as opposed to a competition... in other words, I see self conscious laughs and shoulder shrugs when making bad shots, as opposed to grit and determination to not make them... it's hard to explain... it's like the bowlers accept their short-comings as shot makers, because it's just the Sport shot... and they would be striking on the easy shots... it's a weird reaction.... one you have to witness. Well sometimes you have to laugh at your own stupidity to keep from getting mad at yourself for making that bad shot. By laughing it off, it makes you think about what you did wrong the next time you get up there. At least that's why I laugh at myself after making a bad shot.

I figured out last night after league that when the shot "breaks down" and gets drier instead of moving left and forcing it left you have to move right and use the oil.... When I moved right last night I started smashing them!!

My prediction and sorry if I offend anyone, but it is that Rudy Ruiz will have high average when it is all said and done. Not that some of you can't compete, but his game is extremely accurate and simple. Less things to go wrong and he has always been a good bowler. Just curious MsMullet... if I were bowling this league, would that influence or change your prediction any?.... I'll be subbing for Rudy the 20th of this month and I may bowl it every week after I get back from Nationals....I'm not on a team as such but subbing... #vomit# I swear to a "higher power" ( don't want to offend anybody).... mr. p.... you have to be the most insecure man/ person I have erver met in my entire life... The bottom line is this: You chose not to bowl the sport league, because you have barked and bragged about your predicted score at nationals, and were afraid bowling on a tough condition would make it harder for you to meet your goal. Of course, you are the ONLY bowler in America that seems to think Sport bowling makes it harder for you to bowl... check out the main page of bowl.com, there is a big article about how many competitors at the National tournament credit their sport league experience with their improved results at the tournament... I'll answer for msmullet... yes, I think Rudy would out-average you. And there might be more...

Also, we are all used to the lanes reacting certain ways at different parts of the lane.... Shooting spares for most is the biggest challenge, especially the 3,6,10 spare. You can't set it short or it will hook left of the 3 pin... but you also know that if you make a little mistake right, you slide by the 3 pin.....
This type of shot I feel gives us a clearer understanding why PBA Regional and National Touring pros throw straight at all or almost all their spares with plastic....JMO...

I have read those articles as well PBA.... and sport shots are different in each house and league....

Although a lot of your numbers are from the days when you had to make your shot (balls not doing the work for you) you could be a contender, but if you don't bowl most of the league you don't count and I would still go with Rudy. I have watched him bowl many a tournament and he adjusted to the shot more times than not. Most of the younger bowlers that have the high averages don't understand the concept of a mark, they play an area and are forgiven for most of the misses, but on the sport shot the room for error goes away. That is what makes it so much fun to watch. You tend to blame your misses on approaches, burned up heads, etc. ;D That ought to get you going!

Rudy doesn't out average you on a walled up shot, not to mention the balls doing the work for you. Going back to the basics (which I feel the sports shot does) he will outaverage most bowlers. I have always felt that was the one thing that hurt his game, the balls on the market.

Keep telling yourself that people are jealous of you and your abilites and accomplishemnts, and maybe, one day, you will start believing your own hype and braggadoccio... you are already 6 games back for total games bowled... rules say you must have 2/3 of a league's games to be eligible for awards... so you must bowl at least 8 weeks to qualify for high average. Rudy misses 1 week a month due to rotating shift, so you would have approximately the same number of games. I think your record speaks for itself. Unfortunately... you won't let it.

I've seen Rudy bowl as well for years in league and in Tourns..... He is not that accurate and his game is not simple... he plays an area as all twisters do.... Yes, he is more accurate than your typical twister.... but that in no way compares his accuracy to mine..... bigjle.....Rudy was not even in the top 6 in average at Arm II on Tuesday night..... Are you saying that Rudy wasn't giving the whole league his all and was sandbagging?...

I think mr. p has sunk to his self proclaimed "Just stirring things up" mode...
The problem is, all of his "it's not bragging if you back it up" talk has a ring of desperation and sadness about it...
I think it taints his "legacy", and is a major reason he has not been recognized by any of the area institutions that recognize accomplishments. While nevr nominated for the "big city's" HoF, mr. p has been passed over for a couple of years in our podunk town... and I think attitude factors in almost as much as accomplishment.
