Maybe he's really trying to bring the scores down to a managable level and bring some skill back into the game. If you really listen to the excuses, it sounds like people are not executing their shots properly. An example... "I had a couple of shots miss the head pin right and flush the 3 pin, if I didn't get the ball out when I was in deeper." That statement tells me that you missed your mark and the lane was not as forgiving as it has been in the past. It might be a good thing if they don't fix that so called problem. Maybe the bowler needs to be more acurate. Just my 2 cents. I don't mind if it is a condition that make you be accurate, but last night the shot was squirrlly. The first game it was mostly me I couldn't clear the thumb on the ball I wanted to throw. But on one of my shots I was trying something different, I ended up coming up at the line and spinning the ball more than I wanted and smashed the pocket. On the next shot I threw it a lot better, but it ran high. In abot the 3rd frame of the second game I took the ball to Jimbo and got the thumb hole opened a bit and didn't have as much of a problem after that.

i'm all for a more challenging shot ... i personally feel that i averaged too high in that league last season for how i threw the ball ... i used a 10 year old Ti Boss for probably 90% of the league and the shot was way too forgiving ... but thats just me, a 200 average bowler, so what do i know

Started off ok last night with a 237 game.... the adjustments to the shot seemed to be working... but then the outsides and track fried and started causing squirrelly ball reaction and over/under reaction by the 2nd game..... Switch balls and lines during the 2nd and 3rd games but could never find a consistent ball reaction again. Went 202 and 198 for games 2 and 3...for a 637 series.. We lost 4 last night because no one on our team could hit our normal averages... I did hit my average that I set the first three weeks in this league but that's only a 202 average... that's only a 30 pin drop from last year.... Oh, I'm not looking forward to this year at Arm II.... at least not yet.... Lefties have shot 300, string strikes and shoot 750 series on Tuesday night.....I'm still looking for my first 650+ series in this house for the fall.....
When is Randy Ray going to realize that the problem is this new lane finish and not the lane machine or shot? It's too soft and causing the bad ball reaction...

The lanes were pretty good last night. I went 211-228-204=643. I should have scored higher, but had a couple of dumb shots. Whiff won 3 again last night, but it wasn't easy. The team we bowled had a team average of about 780-790 and shot almost 1000 scratch the second game. The last game everyone on our team had at least a 200. It is the first time in a long time I can remember that. Steven Crawford shot 792 for us too.

Guess I need to learn how to throw a spinner ball like Crawford so I can score in that house now.....lol....

I said the lanes were good, or at least a ton better then they have been the first few weeks.

Sorry about the misreading on my part...
You must of caught a better pair than we did..... Our pair was only good the first game....
I hit the pocket a lot the third game but could never carry the 10 pin on the right lane..... Rack was off, the 3 pin was either setting too close to the head pin or was set back off spot....and in the 10th after leaving 4 straight 10 pins in a row on the right lane, I moved my feet 1/2 freaking board right and my ball jumped into the beak leaving the 6,10..... unfreaking beleivable....

i shot 647, only my 2nd time to bowl this season, could have been higher, missed 2 easy spares and left 4 splits ... but like Doc said, we won 3, which is a good thing ... i'll be bowling the next 2 weeks i believe, so hopefully that 647 is a starting point and will be going up

The struggles for SIDK still continues, we lost 4 to G-Spots..... Garland shot well with a 679, I was 2nd high on the pair with a 649 and there was one other small 600 series on the pair.
So between, me, Kristy Krol, Bob Eason, Dennis Francis, Brad & Ricky Wendell, Blake White, Garland Newman and Mike Fravel, we had 3 - 600+ series on this supposed house cake shot on our pair..... the more you hook the ball, the worse off you are.
I go 193, 233, 223 and WIN the Eliminator..... My average was 204 and may go up a pin or two but that's a far cry from my 232 avg. from last year in this league....How much longer are the bowlers of Arm II going to endure this crap?.... I had to make major changes in my game to score what I did last night after the first game. Moved right and fluffed the ball hard up 2nd arrow with my Blade..... The heads hooked and the oil flew down to the back ends inside of 2nd arrow by the 5th frame of the first game, it was unreal..... and the over/under was as bad as I have seen it all year....

It seems the shot is not condusive to the way you throw the ball. BTW...who does have high average in the league and what is it? Just curious.

It's not condusive to the way a lot of people throw the ball.... I don't know who has high average or even what it is.....the scores and averages are way down this year in all leagues at Arm II..... If I had to guess though, I would bet that Rusty Davis has high avg. and Garland and Mike Fravel I'm sure are not far behind. You seeing a trend in similarity of bowling styles in what it takes to score there?.... I am...

I will agree with MrP on one point last night. THE LANES SUCKED!!!!! He said he had oil inside, well not on our pair. If you missed inside of the second arrow it hooked and if you hit between 5 & 8 you were lucking to get the 3pin in the face.
I went 247-177-181=605. It didn't matter what I did in the second & third games it didn't work. I moved, changed hand positions, changed angles, and I tried it with each ball I had. By the 7th frame of the 3rd game I was happy to swing the ball a little, smash and leave a 10pin. Thats pretty bad when you are hoping for a 10pin and have no desire to move.
Now I know why MrP brings his U-haul full of balls because you have to have just about everything you own for that crap. I'm at the point that I find regional shots easier.

I was at a huge 207 before last night and now I'm at a 205. Wed. nights I'm at 214, so that should tell you the difference.

Even though we had some oil inside on our pair, it was spotty at best.... Some of the other bowlers that were deeper inside had trouble holding a line at 3rd arrow.... but if they pushed the ball a little bit more right, it wouldn't get back and if they made a big mistake right out to the gravel... it hooked hard left and usually came back into the nose or Brooklyn..... it was horrible... Like I said, I had to flatten the ball out and move right and keep it tight around 2nd arrow and throw the ball harder.... I could go a little right and a little left of my target but not much.... It wasn't a shot I like playing, I was just doing whatever I had to, to try and help our team out...

Bowled pretty good last night, could have been better if lane 29 didn't have such a bad rack but anyways, went 192, 267, 224 for a 683 series. We finally won 4 last night as a team, bonus...
