Do you get a Champion's Jacket as part of your winnings...
It will be neat to go down in history as the first champion of any organization... the first ABC National Tournament had only 8 or 12 teams, but, those championships are just as esteemed as the championships from today.

Well it's not near as prestigious as ABC Nationals but it felt good to win the first one or any Tourn. for that matter but how prestigious will depend on the success of the organization from here on out... No, didn't get a jacket or a trophy....just money.... I'll have to mention that to olepro or Kirk, the next time I see them....lol....

Since I've bowled in both organizations....both Tourns. bowl on house conditions, same as in leagues... But the SASBA bowlers are very talented and can bowl. I'm sure since the field was larger in SASBA, the opportunity for higher scores is more possible. Even though I had a good day, that does not mean that other bowlers in our age group wouldn't have had a better day than me, if we would have had more than 9 entries....JMO...

Looking at the scores you posted for the tournament, it looks like the shot was super easy. The entire field averaged 226.74 for 90 games, so they couldn't have been real tough. Even last place averaged 207 and he is a lefty. Looks like it was easier than the house shot.

Don't forget, the bowlers that bowled, aren't your typical house hero bowler. Most bowl many Scratch Tourns., SASBA and PBA Regionals. There was some talent on the lanes.... Your making these assumptions without even being there, much less bowling in it. Maybe on the next Tourn. that's in the Houston area, you should shoe up and give it a go...

You know it's unbelievable how prestigious this tournament victory over 7 other entries has become...
By then end of the year you will have bowled against Pete Weber, Brian Voss and othjer touring pros...
Make no mistake, no matter how qualified you think all the entrants were... there isn't a bowler in this world that's not a "House Shot Hero".....
Spin it however you want... I can't believe you actually bowled since there WAS 1 lefthander bowling... 3 weeks before that, you wouldn't bowl a tournament @ the same house.... because of how easy the left side was at Diamond...

I will not...PBA...lol... House hero's to me are bowlers that can only shoot in 1 or 2 houses to beat anybody. When they get on a shot they've never bowled on, they drown... There was 3 left handers in the field. And that was true but if I'd known that the shot for that Tourn. was changed dramatically I might of but like I said before, I was tight on funds that week and I don't like multi-entry Tourns. of any kind, including our City Tourn.

As I've said 100 times before... you can't get bowlers to bowl for trophies... and there is no prestige in winning anymore... so you restrict the entries to 1 per bowler, and bowl for $100 prize funds and you get no entries.
USBC Nationals only pays as well as it does because it has THOUSANDS of entries by bowlers that have no chance of winning.
Someday... many of those will wise up, and demand different divisions, or stop going.

Actually, there's more going now over the last several years, let's say from 2001 on.... than what they were averaging in the 90's... The two largest Reno Nationals have both broken Team entry records in 2001 and 2004 and Baton Rouge and Corpus are the two largest out side of Reno.... Many go as a vacation and the excitement of bowling the Nationals event and know very well, they're never going to get into the top 300 in any event....JMO

What's 30.00 bucks? Not enough for me not to go. And I suspect that it won't keep anybody else from going. They haven't raised cost of expenses for running this Tourn. in over what 12 years. The price increase in 2002 all went into the All-Events Prize Fund, no increases in running the Tourn. So most will feel it's only fair. There is such a thing as cost increases...
