I see that Paul and Pete McCordic have moved into 2nd place in doubles at Nationals and their Team is in 8th.
Way to go.....

I'm going to post a quote from the PBA fourm about where Pete McCordic was playing. Some of the guys were asking. This is to help Perfect.
PETE Thanks for the nice comments guys. It was reaLly great to actually be throwing the ball decent and having a good look at the USBC's (ABC's). The last couple of years there were awful. As little as I bowl now, there are only a couple events a year that I can actually get geared up for. My brother bowled great in team event and I felt we really had a chance to take the lead in the doubles before we even threw a shot. We missed carrying a few key shots and fell short of the lead, but it was really great to team with my brother and bowl so good in the doubles. Our team is currently 8th and besides my brother, my son Patrick, and my brother's brother-in-law Rick Loeb were on the team. Duane Lee is the "other guy" with no family ties. We go with the great Bill Lillard's team every year. What an honor to watch him. 59 consecutive ABC's, 79 years old. He shot over 1800 again!!!!!!!!!!! Lifetime ABC average over 200. Amazing! In team, I used a very non aggressive cover with the pin under the fingers for a "roll" effect and started going up 8-9. The lanes did seem to break down quickly, but were always playable. I ended the team event about 12/4 left of where I started. In Doubles/singles, we bowled the 3rd set of the morning. I started with the same ball that I used in team, but thought it rolled too much, too early, and switched to a similar cover with the pin above the fingers and chased the oil in as the lanes broke down. At the end of singles, I was looking around 22-23 (All right guys, no jokes about nose bleeds, please). As I said, I thought they were very playable. I'll leave the regionals to you good bowlers.

Very informative and has helped me a lot..... I turn the ball more than Pete does but I feel my ball speed is higher..... so I should be able to play a similar line as Pete did.... Thanks for the post doc...

Thanks for the post doc... I thought it might help. I haven't seen Pete bowl, but I thought you might have. For me I'm going to just see what my ball is doing during practice and go from there.

I'll say this, if Pete is throwing non-aggressive equipment, you'll need some go straight stuff for sure....JMO... Yes, I've seen Pete bowl quite a bit back in the 80's.... Bowled against him and beaten him in some Regionals. And bowled against him out on the National Tour to but don't think I ever placed higher than he did in any of those....I was just a young rookie in 86 when I went on the National Tour for a month..... Never was able to get comfortable out there, I was young, star dazed and didn't have enough experience....and just wasn't able to stay out there long enough to get over it and gain confidence....

Well I guess that would be my Detour. It goes longer before it hooks compared to my other stuff. Plus my Big Bully hasn't been hooking as much lately.

Jeff, you could always take a Blue Dot with you...never mind...it's not reactive.

I will have fresh oil everytime I bowl.
