I just returned from Nationals....... planned on just to watch, but ended up getting picked up by a desperate team that needed a bowler -- any bowler obviously -- to fill in for a no-show. Poor things..... they had no idea what they were getting into. It was a mistake -- my bowling is ALWAYS a mistake -- but still had a nice time with the two teams from Wichita Kansas. It was also great to see a team next to us from Dallas having a field day in their game one...... I think they shot a low 1100, and ended up with a high 2900 for team, but MOST of the teams I saw weren't even close to them. There was also a team from chicago on the high end that shot a 3200 -- I think the team name was "Bowler's World", but I was on the low end and just watched the scoreboard on them. I DID watch a few of them bowl D/S the next day and just about all of them were using "The One" and carrying very nicely -- but those scores were well below their team scores.
Well, Mr P -- I think you are going to do very well this year. I think the lanes are going to be super for you. I am predicting around a 2000 --- I would move you up, but I think you are going to have a mind thing about the approaches. On all the lanes that I was on , one was slick, the other very tacky. I saw several people fall and MANY people waver. They weren't BAD, you just have to adjust on each.
We were at the lanes several days at many different times watching and the only time I saw them oil the lanes was between the 11:30 D/S and the 2:30 Team. I had the 7AM D/S shift and they were MUCH MUCH drier than they were for the 2:30 PM shift for team, so it is hard for me to believe they oiled the lanes after the last evening shift. My take -- slick for Team, drier for D/S.
There was an article in the Wall Street Journal last week, interviewing the "lane oiling" coordinator for Nationals. I missed seeing that one, but I have a friend that saved it for me and will bring it to me on Thursday.

The lanes are oiled before the 7:00 am squad and before each team squad..... Team event is typically oilier than D & S... that is normal.... and I am aware of the approach dificulties many are having at Nationals... I will be prepared mentally for it...lol... I know it going in... that always helps... Thanks for your vote of confidence in my ability to shoot well on that shot... hope I don't let you down..... ;D

Rumor has it that mr. p has not been online lately because he is on a highly charged workout program to ensure he will have the stamina and strength to meet his goal of bowling well @ Nationals.
Truth be told.. he tried on his peach- colored "Lucky Shirt"... and it was tight... well, tighter than the tight it has always been... so he is trying to drop a couple of ounces before he goes to bowl.

Sometimes I like listening to the Ed Schultz show on AM740 in the evenings. He is a full Liberal Democrat and is constantly dogging the republicans. But sometimes it's good to hear what the other side has to say and how they try to defend themselves. Both sides of the aisle are corrupt and I think we need to get every last one of them out and start over. Also, get rid of the parties and everyone run as Independants.
