SASBA is having a SS/Guest Doubles Tourn. this weekend in San Antonio....CJ Johnson and I will be bowling. Jimmy Young is bowling with Bill Smith, Chris Johnson is bowling with Dale Eagle to name a few that's going to be there... Wish us luck, CJ and I finished 27th last year and 11th the year before, hopefully we'll do better this year. ;D

CJ and I missed the finals by 41 pins..... We started off great in "A" Squad we lead the squad from the 2nd game thru the 4th game. I was +169 and CJ was +75 after 4 games...I had games of 223, 267, 225, 254, avg. 242.25 for the first 4 games. But our 5th game was on 1 & 2, and the low end just didn't score as well. The heads were starting to hook and carry was a biatch, they had just put in new pins. The house also favored lefties and as it turns out, the top 4 or 5 in the final standings had lefties on the team. But anyway, after my first 4 games I went 184, 183, 199, 226, 207 for a big whopping -1 for the last 5 games. I must of shot at 20 to 25 10 pins for the 9 games and missed 3 of them and CJ missed 2 or 3 himself. If we would have spared all of them, we could have made the finals. We finished with +278, I was +168 and CJ was +110, carry was eating us both up.
But my +168 did beat Chris Johnson's +82 for qualifing, and Matt Cabanski was only +187 and Rick Lawrence was +154 to name a few. So I feel I still did ok overall but I should of done better. On those 3 games below 200, I was in the pocket almost every frame, I just could not carry 2 frames in a row, I switched balls and did everything I could but just couldn't carry, the ten pin was eating me up....If you can't double and catch just one split or miss a 10 pin, 180 something is all you can get....
I haven't seen the final standings of all bowlers, SASBA will have it posted this evening or tomorrow....but I'll guess we finished somewhere around 20th...

The top 6 Finishers from this weekends M/G Tourn.
1 Keenan/Arnett (Omar A. is a Lefty) don't know about Keenan 2 DuPont/Bucholtz I don't know about either one of these guys 3 Rountree/Minier both righties 4 Freehauf/Zugina (Jack Zungina) is a lefty 5 Martin/Stephens (Both are lefties) 6 Paine/Coats (Darrell Coats) is a lefty, don't know about Paine
There is a min. of 5 lefties out of 12 in the top 6 finishing teams maybe more... and on average there is only 10 to 15 percent of the field is left handers but almost 50% or maybe more, lefties were in 1/2 the top 6 finishing teams..... So you make the call, did the house favor lefties?... I say yes.... ;D

Besides, the Tourn. didn't fill up this year. It was the first time that's happened since I've been bowling it. CJ has bowled it more than I have and he said that house has always favored the lefties. Since approx. 90% of all bowlers are right handed, it does not make good business sense to give the lefties an advantage, it will kill Tourns. since you have to rely on right handed entries for Tourn. success.... I only want an even shot put out, not one that's an advantage to either side...JMO....

SO, let me get this straight. once again, purfect fails to take the seniors money so he decides that the "unfair shot" is to blame. WWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. sounds to me, as if prrfect was not telling the whole truth about something. lets analyze the situation. 9 games bowled equils 108 frames total. prrfect says he left "20" tenpins. 108 / 20 = 5.4 so this means that roughly every 5th or 6th ball prrfect leaves a 10 pin. sound to me like prfect should have averaged around 250 to 280. (given the option he spares). i dont think that prrfct could bowl all nine games and either strike or leave a ten pin. but it sure goes to show that prfcet paying attention to lefties while he was bowling was not helping him make the correct decision on which ball to throw. ? The observation was made after my bowling was done.... I don't worry about that stuff while bowling.... and if you don't believe me, you can ask Jimmy Young about the right handers carry and the obvious advantage the lefties had.... I talk to the front desk people during "B" squad. The lane maintenance guy started smiling because he knew then smiled and said I know, then gestured his left hand in stating that he is a lefty.... So you make the call wanna.... I was there, you were not....

HOW DO YOU THINK THEY FEEL WHEN IT'S THE OTHER WAY AROUND AND NO LEFTIES MAKE THE FINALS?

SASBA or any Tourn. Assoc. or reoccuring House Tourn. can have a successful Tourn. every month with just right handed entries alone, you can't with lefties..... But I don't want it that extreme and that's not fair either. If house mechanics are capable of putting out a fair shot for both sides. If they are not, then they need to find someone who can or the Tourn. should be moved to a house that can, if you want your Tourn. to grow.... A sure fire way to kill any Tourn., is let the lefties rule on a regular basis.....JMO....

And when I was at Demon Jamie Brooks came to Jimmy Young before the 1st SASBA we had there and asked JY to shut out the leftside he was tired of the lefties winning all the time. So don't say the house dictates the shot because Jamie Brooks has his hand in the pie also trying to shut them out. When we had the 2nd SASBA at Demon he called JY and asked if we still had the shot we used the year before #bsflag# IMHO if SASBA is going to use "HOUSE SHOTS" at their tournaments then they need to go to the houses that only cater to righties. But with weekend open play lineage averaging over $4 a game I would imagine that they're limited to their choices of centers JMO XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Diamond just didn't have the talent of lefties that SASBA brings to exploit it..... And Jaime proves my point....Tourns. are a business and need entries to survive... If the righties won't enter because there are a lot of lefties running over the field, then the righties are not going to enter...Jaime did it as a business decision, not because he hates lefties...

"I was b**ching and complaining and whining <disguised as a bowling lane dressing class for the ignorant out of town bowling alley people> to the front desk people like I used to do in Pasadena/ Houston, but I have been trying to change my image, so I only show my true colors when I'm out of town..."
