Well after FOUR and a half games, the first night of the sports league was a blast for me. Was fun telling people that our lanes weren't right for the whole first game and no one seeming to believe it until they were getting beat in brackets by the guys next to us. So it took money being lost to make em realize it but atleast things finally got fixed. Was joking around so much the first game on the real shot that I managed a whopping 119, the 9 pin 9pin 8pin didn't help me care to much that game. Came back 167 then 217 for a 167 avg. Not bad considering I was gonna be happy setting a 150.

Shot 192 the first game and then all h e l l broke loose when we found out what was going on down at the high end of the house. Come to find out that the last 2 pairs of the league were not oiled with the sport shot. There were several people biatching about it, including me, and nothing was being done about it until 5 frames later. By then I was so upset that I never regained my thought of how to bowl the remainder of the night. I proceed to follow up my 192 with a 121 and 125?. Set a beautiful 146 average and we lost all 4 games, 2 of them by less than 10 pins each. Of well. Maybe things will be correct next week and I can concentrate on bowling instead of running back and forth from lane 13 to 30 to witness the bull$hit.
Nothing against Poteet, but when I saw that he shot 264 the 1st game, I knew something wasn't right and then when David F announced that a team shot 800 team game the 1st game, that's when the biatching began.

I told everyone on our pair from the get go in practice that it wasn't right. That they expected 12 teams so I'm betting they didn't oil our pairs, then I really believed it when I saw the team shoot the 800. I told everyone I talked to it wasn't oiled right, and I said from the get go to my team I was gonna miss some easy spares because I didn't wanna get stuck with no high avg. if we're stuck bowling on that stuff they had last night then have to come back to the real shot. I did a 213 the first non sport shot game just basically dropping the ball and not trying. The funniest part of it all, I don't wanna call out any names but certain people on the "easy" pairs were swearing up and down it was the sport shot and not a league shot whenever I said it was. During the easy shot they were struggling to shoot 130, no wonder they didn't wanna admit it was a house shot.

Btw I know this ain't the right topic but i'm sure it'll be the one getting all the attention today. Anyone know if subs usually get used on the first night of bowling? If my fiance ends up having something to do tonight I was thinking about going up and trying to sub for the wed. league.

Plus I did provide at least part of the entertainment. LOL. Your dad can tell you what happened, if he has not already. The only biatch is I let my wife bowl a higher game than myself. But we have 11 more weeks to go. But I did beat her in series so that mekes me feel a little better. Just think, it only gets better from here. LOL...

Many times subs do bowl on the first night of a league, there is no rule against it.
However, most leagues do not guarantee the first couple of weeks of bowling, so, if there is a sub used, someone has to pay the lineage as well.

I knew something was up when Team Maldonado bowled an 800 team game the 1st game out of the chute.
I only atched them bowl the 10th frame, and none of the shots looked suspect... there was even a brooklyn, but, I didn't see any shots thrown wide that came back, like on the regular house shot.. but again, I only watched 8 or 9 shots... I did tell those that were questioning things that tapes needed to be run on that pair to ensure the "sport shot" was put out...
Then it was discovered the lane machine reverted to the house shot for the last 3 pairs after Mark changed the towel, or the pad or something technical...
Anyway, the re-ran the lanes, and the teams re-bowled... I don't know what their scores were however... I would predict that another 800 team game was probably NOT going to happen...

They also started out the 2nd game with 2 of them having the front 5 and the other one having 4 of 5 strikes. When they rebowled on the sport shot, they didn't break 600 the first game and I think I heard Poteet went from shooting 264 to about a 110.

I should have a better frame of mind next week. Overall I had a blast averaging 146...lol. Had 15 opens, with 8 of them being splits and 2 washouts. So my spare shooting wasn't real bad. I missed 5 spares that I should have made.

I missed 5 spares that I should have made. You are going to have to go straighter at your spares... I noticed several you missed with a lot of turn on the ball... you will have to adjust for the "no skid" you are used to getting shooting spares in the puddle... with no puddle you have to adjust your shot... I know you know this, just reinforcing what you already have thought about.... Plus... I want you to out average mr. perfect... and you will have to make spares in order to do that...
