Congrats to mr. p for actually seeing what it feels like to bowl on Sundays in a SASBA tournament... lol
Cashed for $550 total (split w/ partner for a choice $275 each)... looks like he had a couple of good games and a couple of bad games...
Hey... coin is coin.

yes, congrats to Mr P ... the lanes were not easy, despite the high scores from a few select teams ... i saw many good bowlers, oldies and youngies, struggling all day long

Congrats to mr. p for actually seeing what it feels like to bowl on Sundays in a SASBA tournament... lol Cashed for $550 total (split w/ partner for a choice $275 each)... looks like he had a couple of good games and a couple of bad games... Hey... coin is coin. PBA, actually, this is the 4th time I think I've made the finals in a SASBA event.... ;D But thanks for the kudos PBA and Ihookplastic... Charlie is right, the shot was not a house shot. Mark Williams purposely put out a tougher shot and equally tough on both sides (lefty to righty). If you missed right, it stayed right, set it short it wanted to move on you. Plus, many of the pairs played a lot different than the others. He said he put out the same shot he did for the Lucy Benou Tourn. last year, what ever that was. We had about two boards starting off but after three or 4 games it did open up a little bit but not a whole lot. We only had a 8 game qualifying this tourn. instead of the normal 9 games. Mark had something coming in Saturday night and we needed to be sure to finish on time or a little sooner than normal. Had games of, 245, 183, 222, 201, 247, 230, 277, 220 for a +225 and avg. 228.125. My senior partner shot +42 for the 8 games. We qualified 13th. Sunday, we went up and down, won 7 of 16 matches and finished 13th, where we started the day...lol... Lost 1 match to Smurf and Ozio by 1 pin. 203 to 202 and lost another match 220 to 223. My partner struggled a bit on Sunday in the Baker format finals. But that's the way it goes, I costed us a match or two myself. we did have a 289 game yesterday, I was bowling the 10th frame each game, had a chance for a 300 game but left a 4 pin in the 11th, can't believe I didn't trip it...lol... We cashed for 275.00 ea in the Tourn. and 80.00 ea. in the Calcutta and I cleared 30.00 bucks in the Brackets and high game pot. So I cleared 200.00 bucks for the weekend, not bad against this level of competition. Charley Falco bowled very well to, he was +236 in qualifying but his partner shot minus. I qualified 7th among all guests and beat all the seniors but two.

Nice shooting Saturday, Jeff. I guess that's why I didn't get another phone call after the finals because ya'll didn't do very well overall. But a check is better than no check. Better luck next tournament.

Could you be any more specific? lol You haven't mentioned your ball speed or your rev rate yet..... I figured you would chime in soon...lol.. I'm just excited for bowling well on a tough shot in a big tourn., you'll have to cut me some slack...lol... Y'all may expect that out of me, but I don't. I still get excited when I do well, I never expect myself to do well. I always want to, but wanting and doing have always been two different things...lol...

WOW after reading all the details of the tournament including the the scoring averages of most of the bowlers I feel as if I was there not working. One thing you forgot mr p You bowled pretty good on Saturday but Sunday looked like you had some trouble. Must have partied to hard on Saturday night after getting the chance to bowl on a Sunday for the first time in a while. Weren't the approaches synthetic? How many times did you fall down and bust your grill on Sunday? #nutkick# #SmlyROFL#

How many times did you fall down and bust your grill on Sunday? #nutkick# #SmlyROFL# Sunday was a Baker format... I only bowled the 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10th frames. My partner didn't strike a whole lot Sunday and had quite a few opens. We would be striking at different times. Only on two games did we both strike a lot, the 265 game and 289 game... We had a couple of really bad games, where we both didn't do anything at all either... I basically carried my senior to the finals. He was 27th high among all seniors at +42. So there were quite a few seniors that bowled better than him, that didn't make the finals. I went home Saturday night and fell asleep at 10:30... no drinking for me this weekend until Sunday after getting back...lol... The approaches and lanes are synthetic, didn't have any trouble. I slid about as much as I do at Arm II....lol.... They were slightly tacky Sunday morning but not bad and got better as the day went on.

Don't blame you in your condition but thanks for the thought...lol.... Mills made it up for a while Sunday. Saw and talked to Charlie A. and Skipper Saturday. Also, special thanks to Skipper for buying Chuck and I in the Calcutta. Chuck was suppose to be there to buy ourselves but had stomach problems Saturday morning and was late. Skipper bought us to keep us from going into the Pool. He allowed us to buy all of ourselves back. But he said, if we cash we owe him a dinner.... So PBA, let Skipper know, that I owe him a dinner one day, ok....and tell him thanks again, when you get back to work. We went cheap for 50.00 but got back 160.00 total in the Calcutta portion. So, I put up 25.00 and got back 80.00 for my part. That's not bad for finishing 13th...
