We had advertised we would charge $16 for Certification and then USBC snaked us and upped their share from $8 to $10... we knew we were hosting Mixed State and would be able to cover the deficit created by apsorbing almost $4,000.00 in lost revenue by USBC increasing their dues.We will be approaching membership to increase dues to $18 for next season. It has to be approved at the Annual Meeting. If it is turned down, programs and services will have to be cut back... Participation Award and some Hall of Fame expenses would be the first thing I would look at to save money...
The problem now being are you going to be able to sell that to the membership at the Annual Meeting? Pasadena is full of tight people. You see that every year at League meetings when trying to raise fees $1/per bowler to increase the prize fund because the house went up on their lineage .50 cents a league would NOT increase dues so for the year but they would vote to increase the handicap 10%!!! End result bowling for less money but giving up more HANDICAP!!!!!!!!!!! The GPUSBCA needs to put out a news letter for all the bowler's explaining the stance instead of hitting them with it on April 22nd. Give them a month or so to weigh the positives and then the negatives. Hopefully they'll understand MIXED STATE is not an every year occurance and will vote in favor of an increase so some of they yearly events that are great ie.. HOF banquet will not suffer budget cuts. For some reason the banquet room at Golden Corral just doesn't appeal to me as much as Monument Inn!!!!!!!!!! Maybe when perect gets inducted we can make the change for that year !!!!! #nutkick# LOL
Proposed changes to ByLaws have to be presented to all league secretaries and officers 30 days prior to the meeting.
