From mlb.com Key showdowns: 1. Andruw Jones vs. Roger Clemens. If the series goes the distance, Clemens would get two starts and how well the Atlanta cleanup hitter fares against the seven-time Cy Young Award winner could impact the first and final games of this NLDS. The Atlanta slugger is the most dangerous hitter in the lineup and how well teams have handled him this season has been instrumental in the outcome. Clemens has given up only 11 homers in 204 1/3 innings this year, including just six on the road. I can not believe you doubted me on my Astros information. What were you thinking. You must be missing the hits from the mullet clan. I will have to have Mike get you next Monday!

If Pettitte is starting Game 1, it seems he would get the game 5 start, unless off days dictate he could start game 4, and they skip Backe. It would be really nice if they won the 1st 3 games, and then we wouldn't have to worry about it... How sweet would a San Diego upset of St. Louis be?

I would be nice if the Astros sweep in 3 and San Diego and St. Louis go 5 games. That would give them a extra couple of days of rest to get ready for who ever.

I'm only doubting our ability to score runs, especially in the play offs against top pitchers only of the teams in the play offs... We may have the lowest Runs Against in the league but we also have the lowest Runs Scored of all the teams in the play offs....

Well with there ability or lack there of to score runs it seems they will be playing normal regular season baseball.

1 - 0 Astros
I must say I got a little nervous yesterday, but I do like Garner's thinking. He allowed the less experienced pitchers to get rid of some of the nerves by letting them pitch. Lets hope Clemens has his A game, wait his C game is better than mosts A game. Lets hope the bats are there to support him. I loved the small ball they played yesterday. While homeruns are exciting, I love it when base hits win the game.
GO ASTROS!!!!

I did like yesterday's game I hope they don't go to sleep either! 10 runs usually means the next game they get shut out with Clemens pitching that means losing 1-0!!!!!!!!! But they'll turn that around today and come back to minute maid up 2-0 I have my fingers crossed! GO ASTROS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One thing that may be on our side today is that Smoltz isn't 100%, but he is like the Rocket, his C game is still a good game. Biggio has played incredible this year. Bagwell has stepped into the pinch hitters roll great. They have good momentum, lets hope they keep it going.

I hope they can get the game in today so they can use the momentum. With that tropical storm I have heard talk that the game may get rained out for today.

What will I do with my time tonight? It would mess up my schedule! Its bad enough that the game Saturday is at 6:30. My son is in the calf scrammble at the rodeo Saturday night. Guess I will have to invest in an AM radio with headsets!
