It is time for baseball season once again.
Is there any early predictions for the season?

2nd place in their division and miss the wild card spot by 5 games.

I think they will win the division, win the first round of the playoffs and then lose in the league championship game.

Why do you think they can beat St. Louis? They are too heavily stacked again this year. St. Louis will win the division by at least 10 games.

From some of the predictions I've heard from the experts. St. Louis is favored to win our Division and the Mets to get the Wild Card spot.
Now anything can happen during the year with injuries and if Clemens comes back in May.... We should be a contender...

I was just looking at the St. Louis game and I may be wrong in my last post.

I think they will be more consistent this year... I don't expect them to dig the big hole for themselves like they have done the last couple of years...
I am worried about their pitching. If something happens to Petitte or Oswalt... hello 5th place. I'm not a big Brandon Backe fan... I know he's done great in the playoffs, but, mediocre during the regular season at best... and Wandy shouldn't get the #4 spot of Bucholz... not based on Spring Training numbers anyway... but young players have a tendency to come out of spring training HOT and then can't crack an egg in the majors... Luke Scott for example last year...
I think they'll be 2nd in the division and contending for the wild card... if Clemens comes back, I think we squeak by the Mets or the Braves for the spot...

Not sure if I want to brag yet or not. Glad they won, the Wizard was on as usual, but offense was weak. From what I read beating the Marlins isn't going to be hard this year. But YEAH Astros! 1-0
Glad to hear the fans gave Bagwell the reception he deserves.

The only good thing about last nights game was Pettitt's interview afterwards. When asked what was wrong, he responded nothing....I was just plain horrible, made bad pitches....I just stunk. At least he didn't try to say something hurt. Everytime the announcer tried to give him an out, like you started spring training late, he told them "Look there is no reason or excuse I was just horrible" At least he realizes that and can go forward. I certainly hope they find some offense tonight.

went to sundays game against the Nationals, we won. pettitt scared me a little when the game started. his first pitch "strike", pitch two "strike", pitch three was a homer to the crawford boxes. i thought it was going to be a long day after that. whats up with two of their pitchers throwing at pettitt? i could see once as an accident, but twice?

I think the Nats pitchers just SUC K because the had the fiasco with the Mets and Frank Robinson is serving his suspension in today's game and the Nats starter has already hit Preston Wilson and their pitcher is throwing the ball all over the place. My guess is just bad pitchers not head hunting #bowling# #bowling# #bash#

TRADE LIGHTS ON LIDGE NOW BEFORE YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO GET ANYTHING FOR HIM!!!!!!! Gives a go ahead homer to Daryl Ward in the top of the 10th is saved by Morgan Ensberg in the bottom of the 10th with tying home run. Now in the 11th Trade him now so we can at least get a 20th round pick for him #doh# #deadhorse# <-------------- Lidge's arm #SmlyROFL#

I am telling myself not to get to optomistic, but what a great start to the year. Their record is second in all of MLB second only to the Mets and tied with Chicago. They are rebounding better after a bad game. The team seems to complement each other. I am glad to see them start the year like this, instead of the slower start they had last year. But then again it really matters how they end. GO ASTROS!

Last night's game was exciting to watch...... back and forth and the boys came out on top DESPITE the fact the manager decided to put the pitcher with the highest ERA in a tied situation AND keep him on the mound after his wild performance and hitting a batter. Way to go, Garner.... your boys bailed you out again!
