I think I just figured out what I need to do to get in next year. I need to have more gray hair...lol... I look too young... both Charlie and Roger have less hair and what's left is gray. Even though I'm older than both of them I must be looking younger than them having a full head of hair and very few gray hairs...lol...J/K...people...lol.... If you are going to stick to this plan... continue without the glasses you obviously need... lol That is part "B" of my overall plan.....lol..... It's amazing with the obviously bad eye sight I have, how it's possible for me to be one of the more accurate bowlers in the area.... I must have some Jedi skills, since I can't see my target physically but I still know where it is in my head and can hit it consistently...lol.... "Use the Force to bowl Luke"....lol...

Most people use "the force" since they close their eyes to bowl or have had too much to drink to see their mark. Then there are some bowlers where as long as they hit the lane, they have hit their mark...lol

I've done some of my best bowling drunk...lol... my 846 last year at Arm II on Tuesday night I was drunk the second and third games...lol... Mills and screwed probably could attest to that...lol...

I'm not drink as much this year as I done in past years.... just getting too old, it's too hard getting up the next day for work and the body aches too much...lol...

It all depends on what you consider "TOO DRUNK" To a NON-DRINKER that may not mean the same to them as it does to you!!! #cheers2#

They may not know it from personal experience but have at least witness the different levels and should still know the difference...JMO.. Those that know me, know that I will quit when I've had too much. Meaning I don't get to the point of staggering and stumbling around and slurring my speech so bad people can't understand me.... much less to the point I can't bowl my average... There is a difference between having a good alcohol buzz and being wasted....JMO....

My best regards to James Long and his family for their handling of what HAS to be another big disappointment again this year.
We bowled next to them last night, first time all year, and of course, RJJ expressed her sympathy to him for not being elected and James graciously offered his congratulations to Charlie and Roger and of course, when you ARE a Hall of Famer (without a doubt he is some day)... you just roll with it, and know your time will come.
His time will come...
I did tell him that he would still probably get in before mr. p and that caused all of us to laugh our butts off...
Just kidding mr. p, I know the disappointment has to be overwhelming... I can only hope that when it happens, it will be worth the wait.. and it will be the "right" time.

Thanks PBA..... maybe James and I will get in together next year.... I heard that Jimmy Y. made some more unflattering remarks a week ago over the speaker system concerning the Hall of Fame voting this year. Does he bowl up at Arm 1 on Tuesday night?

Jimmy Young made that unfortunate event happen last year.. he has not publicly made any announcement this year. I have heard this year he has expressed disappointment at not being nominated.. and I have heard he thought he would be automatically resubmitted, but with the merge we did not do that this year, nor will we do it in the future. At this point, you must be nominated each year. I know Jimmy Y was upset last year and stated he did not want to be nominated again, so, I took him at his word and did not submit his name. I did not want to do it without seeking his permisssion, and I did not discuss it with him before the deadline. Do I think he belongs in the Hall of Fame? YES I DO. I think his bowling stats alone are 1 reason, but, he also made things happen in Pasadena as a proprietor that have never happened before and will probably never happen again.. (Pro Tournaments and regionals etc.)

Diandra Asbaty will not be able to attend our banquet as Guest Speaker. She will be competing in the Pan Am International Games sectional qualifying tournament thru the Saturday of the banquet and will not be able to get to Pasadena in time to attend.
We have alternate plans in motion to get someone else... no truth to the rumor that I will be finishing my acceptance speech from 2003...

Today's, Thursday, January 4, 2007 edition of The Pasadena Citizen has an article concerning the inductees and awards dinner.
In keeping in time with the wrong date that I had been quoting for months, it has the wrong date (2/19/07) instead of 2/17/07 which is the correct date...
This was completely my fault as I had the 19th ingrained in my head for months and never fixed it in my mind in all of my negotiations with a guest speaker and everything else involved...
Anyway, it's a nice article... pick up a copy today if you have a chance or even better, maybe drop an email to: ravery@hcnonline.com (Robert Avery, Sports Editor)
thanking him for covering Pasadena Bowling news over the years... of course he never has learned how to keep score and insists on misquoting throwing the first 11 strikes before settling for a 290 on a weekly basis...
You may also question the legitmacy of their Top 10 bowlers listing they are running if you care to....
