Just for the record: Ouida Johnson from Sherman, TX hates lanes 1/ 2 @ Armadilla in Pasadena, TX. She was afraid she was going to fall off the slope on lane 1 to the sidewalk. In response to mr. perfect's take that higher scores are obtained when the lanes are oiled before each squad: Mrs. Jane Ruyhle of Sherman, TX thinks the lanes were way too slick. Bottom line is you can't please everyone with any circumstance or situation. You survey your houses and find out what they want to do with the lanes... you schedule your tournament based on entries and lanes available. You request volunteers to lane monitor and help with selling pictures, souvenirs raffles, whatever... You express gratitude and provide some sort of luncheon or something to express your thanks. Then, you wait for the next event to provide your membership the chance to participate in... Perfect just sent me a private message telling me that these two women were both his AUNTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! #SmlyROFL# J/K

I'm not trying to discount what you are saying XBOM, it is a lot of work by everyone......And everyone has a different idea as to what is the most important thing or things to a "bowling" Tourn..... To me, and being a scratch bowler, the lane conditions are the most important thing along with creating as much fairness from squad to squad and from left handed to right handed even scoring as can reasonably be obtained... I believe the bowlers want fairness with the conditions (whatever they are), slick or dry as long as it's put out consistently is as important as anything else....JMO...

I understand you perfectly well perfect. Being a "scratch" bowler you want the lane conditions fair which means no advantage to the lefthander that you might catch in the brackets on your squad. I honestly think you couldn't care less one way or the other just as long as your squad is equal and has a good shot. For the other 5 weekends what do you care your not going to be there!!!!!!!!!!!!! #SmlyROFL# LOL

What Division has the most entries?.... whatever it is, that division should be given the most consideration as to what is most important.....JMO...

Oh, ok..... I'm sure glad we have first squads at both houses then, I think when we bowl....lol... We have the 2:00 pm Team squad at Diamond on Saturday Nov. 11th and the 8:00 am Squad for D & S on the 12th.... The Diamond time, may not be a first squad time....I don't know... Is there any way of finding out what pairs we'll be on at each house before that weekend? I think you are on 11/12 at Diamond...... and 9/10 at Arma.... SpeckledTator just called ofer and told him her keyboard was sticking and that 11/12 at diamond was actually 1/2 and 9/10 at armadilla has been changed to 31/32 that way your closer to the door at armadilla so you can get to BW3'S faster to have that after bowling drink and prove your the trivia master #thcheerleader#

What Division has the most entries?.... whatever it is, that division should be given the most consideration as to what is most important.....JMO... MrP - you may be shocked to know that Div 2 and Div 3 Men's have more entries than Div 1 --- so by your statement above, if we were to give THEM more consideration, then the lanes AFTER the first squad in D/S would be wonderful for them and you are screwed on lane conditions AND lane assignments. Team entries are fairly even across the board. The women's divisions 165 and under overwhelmed the 166 and up. For some reason, you naturally ASSUME these tournaments are filled with bowlers of your caliber, and that just is not the case. The majority are just your average Joe's that love the sport on their 150 averages and enjoy the out-of-town weekends every now and again, without the expectation of First Place. They are there to Bowl, enjoy company, have fun, and if they cash, that is just a bonus.

But cheer up... even if you ARE on the very low end, I have some good news for you.... two bowlers won 100 Pins Over Average and a 150 Pins over Series awards on those lanes. Isn't that great news? Their averages may have been below 160, but the lanes were super for them!

I honestly don't know and that is why I was asking. I have no idea what Div. has the most entries in this Tourn. But I do know this, with today's equipment and soft lane conditions, there is more bowlers carrying 196 and up than there use to be... and I would disagree that most bowlers in this tourn are 150 avg. bowlers just wanting a weekend out of town for fun. I would say that most of the male entries are around the 185 to 195 avg. level, maybe higher but I'm sure the women's avg. level is around the 165 to 175 level. But I doubt there is anyway for you to find out for sure....

I don't care what pair I catch at Arm I, except for 13 & 14, that's the worse pair in the house because of the rack on lane 13...lol...

The payout sheet is posted at each center. I was exaggerating about the 150 averages...... With a bottom of 701 - up (175 ave) for Div 1 Team and a bottom of 356 - up (178 ave) for Div 1 doubles, then the middle ground would be more in the range of 165. You will not see the "average Joe's" when you bowl your weekend because the majority will be Div 1 on all squads those two days.

ken coker, congrats. ouida johnson doesnt know how to walk straight, jane ruyhle doesnt know how to hook the ball. due to time restraints, the oiling of the lanes should follow the same schedule as nationals, so should the amount of time inbetween squads. 1-2 and 31-32 should not be bowled on until there is a mechanical failure. those pairs of lanes should be rented out by the center to the mixed state tournament. each person bowling should expect to pay around 10 cents a game more for linage. the bowling centers should not be expected to lose money on these unused pairs. purfect, shut up. havent you noticed that we do opposite of what you want, because we know its right for the "average bowlers". lane conditions will never be fair. no matter what anyone ever does, that is why we will never be a TRUE olympic sport. i like to bowl, i just dont have the time. im out.

Y'all been doing that since the 80's..lol.. No wonder bowling participation is down each and every year since then.... We've tried and have been doing it everyone elses way, and where has that gotten us?.... I can tell you, less bowlers..... maybe people should start listening to the scratch bowlers..... We are the ones that bowl for our entire life for the most part. We are the ones that bowl 2 and 3 leagues a week, plus bowl, City, State and National Tourns. and other Tourns.... more than any other group of bowlers... but we are listened to the least.... That makes no sense to me.. #stupid#
